The Associated Press reports that a Quebec comedy duo -- Les Justiciers Masqus / Masked Avengers -- successfully prank called Sarah Palin. They posed as French President Nicolas Sarkozy!

And, apparently, Sarah Palin bought every word of their increasingly hilarious questions.

Comedians all over the world probably think that Sarah Palin is a gift that keeps on giving.

The Huffington Post was also quick to report about the prank call to Sarah Palin. At the moment, readers of the Huffington Post can listen to the six minute prank call to Sarah Palin.

The Palin campaign issued a statement in response.

"Governor Palin was mildly amused to learn that she had joined the ranks of heads of state, including President Sarkozy and other celebrities, in being targeted by these pranksters. C'est la vie," she said.

If this prank call is legit, which I still doubt, it shows to me that Sarah Palin should learn to listen more closely. How could she not get suspicious if the caller posing as French President Nicolas Sarkozy says "my wife Carla is 'hot in bed'' How can Sarah Palin hear something like this and not figure out that it was a prank?

"It's so good to hear you, thank you for calling us. We have such great respect for you, John McCain and I, we love you!" Palin said in the audio.

Among other things she said to the caller posing as French President Nicolas Sarkozy was that she thinks she may make a good president in eight years. Furthermore, Sarah Palin discussed politics, chatted about hunting and conversed with the caller about Sarkozy's beautiful wife.

Here a some tidbits from the Sarah Palin prank call:

"I look forward to working with you, and getting to meet you and your beautiful wife," Sarah Palin says during the prank call. "We should go hunting together," Sarah Palin said, thinking she speaks to French President Nicolas Sarkozy.

And the comedian answers: "I just love killing those animals ... take away life, that is so fun!"

And what does Sarah Palin do after hearing such an unusual remark? She laughed.

Comedian Marc Antoine Audette told AFP: "This was our most explosive coup so far."

I am sure Canadians are having a great laugh at Sarah Palin's expense at the moment.

I am still not convinced that this was the real Sarah Palin at the other end of that prank call. I am waiting for CNN to pick up on the issue and how a pair of comedians got past the Secret Service.

The two comedians, well-known in Montreal, Marc-Antoine Audette and Sebastien Trudel, are known as the 'Masked Avengers'. They are famous for prank calls to celebrities and politicians. I had never heard of them before, but I am pretty sure that this prank call will broaden their audience in the rest of the world. They sure made a new fan in me today, after listening to their prank call to Sarah Palin.
