Sarah Palin Hand Notes: It's Time for a Tina Fey SNL Skit

Roy A. Barnes
The Sarah Palin hand notes she used at the Tea Party Convention in Nashville Saturday means that it's time for a Tina Fey SNL skit. These Sarah Palin hand notes, as reported at The Huffington Post, are ripe fodder for a Tina Fey SNL skit. Can you imagine how Tina Fey and SNL would spoof the Sarah Palin hand notes? How would the great impersonator use the scribblings on the former Alaska governor's hand, which had the words "Energy", "Tax", and "Lift American Spirits" with the word "Budget" being crossed out in front of "cuts", which made it look as if she was trying to remember "Tax cuts".

Will Tina Fey Do an SNL Skit on the Sarah Palin Hand Notes?

Tina Fey is an accomplished actress, but one of the issues that could be raised in her mindset is that if she continuously impersonates the former Vice Presidential candidate, would she eventually become type cast? As a fan of SNL political skits, I wouldn't mind seeing Tina Fey come on every week and mock Sarah Palin. It's fine that she keeps on doing other things, but this country needs a counterbalance to the real Sarah Palin running around the country stirring up ignorance.

The accompanying video inserts with The Huffington Post article are even more troubling than the "crib notes". During her speech at the Tea Party Convention, the Fox News contributor asked her worshippers, "How's the hopey changey stuff working out for ya" like some displaced Valley Girl of the 1980s. "Gag me" and others who try to follow politics with a common sense approach "with a spoon." During the Sarah Palin hand notes incident when she was being interviewed at the Tea Party Convention, she made a reference to "under God's green earth" like some Sunday school teacher in a church basement classroom. Were the Tea Party Convention attendees five years old or something to need such a choice of words uttered by their hero, who they think is one of them and is so smart and insightful about the world?

It's time...It's time. It's Tina Fey and SNL skit about Sarah Palin time. We need you back starring in your oh so memorable role to shed even more light on this woman, who could, God forbid, become the next President of the United States.

Sarah has a full plate, and in light of this I can understand the use of a cheat sheet/teleprompter,hand notes or whatever get's her through the interview. However, she should be more discreet as the public goes into attack mode when it comes to trust issues involving public officials.

@willegge: you must be some public speaker if you, like Palin, need to write down your CORE VALUES that you totally strongly believe in but maybe not enough for you to remember them.
