Sarah Palin made a very public bid for the White House during the 2008 presidential elections along side Senator John McCain. Now she has accepted a position as news commentator for Fox News. Once revered as the breathe of fresh air the McCain campaign needed to match the might of the Obama/Biden ticket, Palin fast begun to wear out the welcome mat before conceding the run for the vice presidential office for good. Praised for her forthright and "pit-bull" style presence along side McCain, Palin burst on the presidential election scene in 2008 literally from nowhere. Hailing from the proud state of Alaska, Palin carried her pride and love for the state on her sleeve to her determent. Comedic sketches featured on Saturday Live spelled the end of the Palin feel good factor for the public and 2008 elections voter. Palin's rising star presence around the McCain campaign dimmed in the wake of unfortunate personal mismanagement of the candidate. Stories of personal overspending as well as the untimely pregnancy of teen daughter brought the McCain/Palin ticket to a screeching halt.

In the eyes of the public the damage was done and Palin returned to her short lived governorship position in Alaska by the end of the doomed McCain campaign. She later resigned admits a swirl of investigations and family issues. Thereafter, the former governor of Alaska set her sights on the next best thing to VP and second top position in the land. As an author with a successful book deal under her belt, Palin set the record straight in her tale all book. The Palin memoir's entitled "Going Rogue" was release in November 2009 and took the number two spot on the book sales chart. The former Alaskan governor and Republican VP candidate who majored in journalism at the University of Idaho revives her career with a stunning move towards the world of broadcasting at Fox News as political commenter and analysis for the cable channel. Palin expressed her appreciation for the appointment on the networks Web site stating, I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News." Palin went onto to say in the posted statement, "It's wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news." She joins the company of another former 2009 candidate for president former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee who also hosts a talk show on Fox News. Huckabee unlike Palin is considering a possible second run for president in 2012.
