Sarah Palin Nude Photos! Palin Hot Photos! Where's the Economy in All This?

More Lowbrow Searches: Bristol Palin Pregnant, Sarah Palin Bikini

We get it. Sarah Palin is a hot topic, a hot number, a hot woman. She's a hottie. We get it.

The internet is afire with the search for Sarah Palin nude (at least one magazine is offering a copy of some godawful DVD in exchange for photos). Topics gone wild on the internet are Sarah Palin bikini pictures (possible, considering she did compete in the Miss Alaska pageant), Sarah Palin hot photos (I'm sure they won't be too difficult to find, dependent on one's definition of "hot"), Sarah Palin Hot Pictures (refer to previous parenthetical remark). Yesterday, one of the hottest topics on Google Trends was "Sarah Palin's legs."

Yeah. Complete with pictures of about a foot of shin in high heels (yes, like most people, the curiosity was too much to bear...).

We also get the fact that Bristol Palin is pregnant and will most likely remain so for a few more months, that Sarah Palin is the grandmother, and that Sarah Palin is indeed the mother of littel 4-month-old Trig. We get it.

So stop defending all of that and get back to the issues at hand. The Republican National Convention, in all its abbreviated glory, is going on in St. Paul, Minnesota, and very little has been said about it. Nothing compared to what was being said on a daily basis about the Democrats. The governor of Arizona's (Janet Napolitano) speech garnered more internet traffic than anything said or done at the Republican National Convention to date, except for the speech given by Fred Thompson.

Even Joe Lieberman's speech has fallen flat. Why? Republicans do not trust him. Democrats do not trust him. Independents do not trust him. Nobody trusts a fence-sitter or a quisling.

But the Republicans have done nothing but play defense for the past five days. They have done everything to shore up their presumptive presidential candidate's choice of running mate. They didn't even bother to bash Obama very much (lucky him), except for former Democrat Joe Lieberman. But, as stated earlier, nobody outside the convention hall heard or cared what he was saying.

But the number one topic one every voter's mind has not been mentioned. Some passing remarks, a comment or two in a thirty-minute speech, but barely a mention. What is it?

It's the economy, stupid...

Bill Schneider of CNN points out the fact that the Republicans have scarcely mentioned the most important topic in the United States, the one thing that people want to hear discussed, the one aspect of our society that an incoming president might just be able to alter favorably. People want to be reassured, if not totally convinced, that the people they vote into office, are going to help bring the American economy back in line.

And the Republicans are missing their opportunity. They have a golden opportunity to push their economic agenda. But they are not. Their opponents are claiming that it is the same trickle-down Reaganomics (for the most part) employed by Republicans for the past thirty years, which is why we're in such economic straits. And now is the time for the Republicans to make their case.

But they are not. They are in defense mode. While they defend the political virtue of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and the internet distracts people looking for Sarah Palin nude photos or Sarah Palin hot photos or Sarah Palin bikini photos, the economy is being sidelined. While they build John McCain up to be a great hero (and he is, so they really do not have to push this point), they ignore the biggest issue in the political arena.

It's the economy, John and Sarah, that the people want to hear about. Tell the people how you're going to fix the economy that seems broken.

Ben Stein, an avid John McCain supporter, told CNN's Larry King after the Democratic National Convention on night last week, that Senator Obama's economic plan was complicated but a good one. Better than McCain's. Stein said he still wanted John McCain to win, but Barack Obama had the best economic policy.

Could that be why the Republicans aren't talking about the economy? Or does John McCain really believe the economy of the United States is still fundamentally strong, as he stated just a few days ago? Does he believe it so sound that it does not need to be addressed?

No. That cannot possibly be it.

Political parties usually make their case during their conventions, talk up their platforms. But the Republicans are not doing that this year in St. Paul. They're far too busy playing defense for Sarah Palin. And while they're playing defense, no one is paying them any heed.

Besides, tracking down hot photos of Sarah Palin is far more interesting than listening to Fred Thompson tell everybody that she's a "breath of fresh air."

Well folks, it has been six months of the Obama presidency, and the big winners are the big banks and the big unions. The big union win is no surprise, but the big bank win is a surprise. Obama was profiled and recruited by the Shadow government at the Goldman Sacks to keep the bubble economy on track. The next big bubble is government debt. That is why Obama cannot create enough of it. There are big players who are on the short side of this trade, and they will make trillions this time, not just billions. The American taxpayer will get the bill, that can never be paid in full. The duped American voter has traded hope and change for slavery.
Don't get me wrong, I am with Warren Buffet, Obama is a nice man, with a lovely family, and a loyal dog.

good comment, about the economy and the clintons. it is very hard to imagine, with the record of the dems on taxes and give aways, that there would be many in this world who think that obama is really going to be able to do what he says he will do. I don't see it. There is entirely too much tax and spend.

If you Dems are so hot on how well our economy did with Clinton, why the hell did you vote for BB instead of HC

Oh Saul, sex sells... it really does come down to that. Have a boob pop out of your dress, the press is posting pics all over the net (nevermind you should have been wearing a bra...) In today's age, I have a hard time believing photos anyway since I think most of them are photoshopped anyway. But yes, please, let's focus on the economy and let the family business have a rest... I agree with you there 100%. I want to hear both candidates telling me what they are going to do to get America back on its feet and cure all of our ills. Then, over the next 4 years, I will be lucky to see just 1% of what's promised come to fruition.... because, unfortunately, that's the way it seems to work.

Saul, were you paid for this article upfront or was it for performance payments only? Reason I'm asking, there's some real jerks here at AC who are declining my content because they claim they don't pay for "Op-ed" submissions, or pieces which speculate on widely covered information- much like your article.

Let me know in a personal message.

PS: If anyone else here thinks AC declines content based on personal whims, voice your opinion. I've had piece after piece rejected, and none of them were even controversial sounding. They were like this person's article.

Sarah, while I agree with you about moral issues being a big thing and that we should all practice family values, I feel that the saying, "seperation between state and religion" really applies here. When choosing the President of the United States, of course you want someone who is an honest, family man or woman, but you must also consider other issues such as health care, the war, and the economy. No family can prosper to have "Family Values" if they're too busy worrying about how to pay the mortgage or put food on the table for their kids.

Many people have asked me how in the hell George Bush was elected for the second time after driving down not only the economy, taking us from being in the black with Clinton to being in the red in less than 2 years, but his own ratings as President. I had one answer for them. He played the religious card. Yes, he stood up in front of everyone, talking about what a good Christian man he was, and maybe he is, but I don't see it. And yes, p

Great article. I believe the Republican party decided to have a woman candidate for vice president in order to get more women's votes. However, being a woman and believing that women can do anything they set their mind to do, I feel that Sarah Palin is just a pretty face. That she is not prepared to take on such an important job as vp, much less, God forbid, lead the nation if something happens to McCain. And this searching for hot pics and taking away from what the Republicans are saying.....I feel that this move has hindered more than helped the Republicans, imo.

I agree with you on economics. They are lousy. But I actually believe that McCain feels the economy of the country is not that bad unlike Obama who knows that Bush has put this country in serious debt after inheriting an economy that was in the black (Clinton's). I know which candidate I will vote for in November, but no matter who wins, I hope they do come up with some way to help the economy. Americans can't s

Great article. Just my opinion, but I rather think McCains idea to take her on as a running mate had less to do with her qulaifications and more to do with the idea of dividing and conquering-as well as, as you point out, to detract from the real topics and important issues-such as the economy. And all the info on the super cyber highway related to Palin, well, seems obvious that his tactic is working.
