Sarah Palin Resignation Means She Will Not Seek Re-Election for Position of Governor in 2010 After Stepping Down

Sarah Palin resignation news is being confirmed by CNN. The Sarah Palin resignation is huge news for the Republican Party, as people are learning that Sarah Palin is resigning as Governor of Alaska according to an announcement that she made on Friday. The Sarah Palin resignation is a bit of a surprise from the out-spoken Governor of Alaska, who ran for the spot of Vice President of the United States in the last national election. The Sarah Palin resignation will go into effect before the end of the month, bringing an end to her term as Governor before it ends naturally. The Sarah Palin resignation also means that they will need to have an interim Governor in Alaska.

Governor Sarah Palin made the announcement that she would be stepping down before the end of the month, and that she is now in the process of transferring power to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who will take the oath of the office on July 25th at the Governor's Picnic. The reason for the Sarah Palin resignation is said to be that she has "accomplished goals she has set forward". It's an off reason to resign as Governor with only about a year left on the term, but apparently this was the right move for Sarah Palin to make for herself and her family at this time.

The Sarah Palin resignation could mean a couple of things for the future of Sarah Palin in politics, with the most obvious assumption being that she is resigning in order to spend more time running for President in the 2012 election. It's an odd choice to resign so early though, as it could hurt her in the end with voters assuming that she would quit on them again down the road. At the same time, with the Sarah Palin resignation coming so far from the next election the thought could be that people might forget what she has done.

There is sure to be more news very soon about specific reasons for the Sarah Palin resignation, but for now everyone is going to be left to assume that she has her own personal reasons for doing so. The Sarah Palin resignation is going to be very huge in the news soon, and it is also possible that the announcement was made heading into the July 4th weekend in an effort to shield it from being seen by millions on the hour every hour. The only information we know for sure right now, is that by the end of July, Sarah Palin will no longer be the Governor of Alaska.

I agree with Saul and Wow. It was a fluke that she got as far as she did. I mean, think about it. How many people actually LIVE in Alaska? And how many prefer to live there because they're running away from society? So that leaves a minority of the population who'd even WANT to run for Mayor or Governor.

I think it's so ironic that she cries media bias and crucifixion..She should take a page from Hillary on how to handle persecution at the hands of the media..:) Which would be..to just to ignore them and do your work..Oh..maybe that's it..she really doesn't know how to work, just campaign and smile and shake hands and kiss babies and fawn over people..Nice article.

Well done report. I am disappointed that she did not go full term with the Governor's spot.

All I can say right now is, YAY! I hope she isn't egotistical enough to try for president when she can't even manage the job as governor correctly. Great article :)

Maybe this is an attempt to get the Lt. Gov. elected. Sort of giving him some governing experience to use in his campaign to be elected governor.

    Good coverage, as always!

I agree with saul relative, I think its all for her own personal gain. She makes promises and breaks them, her best interest was apparently not in the best interest for Alaskans. McCain just made her head swell and she ran with it. Not a good leader, just a 'popular' one.
