Sarah Palin Speech at Nashville Tea Party Convention Wins Support of Independents

Elle
Sarah Palin socked it to the Democrats with her witty humor and won the confidence of the independent Tea Party goers in Nashville, Tennessee. She gave a quick rally speech that focused on bipartisanship but conveniently stuck the knife in Democrats with her quirky comments, all the while producing a charming Alaskan smile.

While the Tea Party movement has repeatedly denounced any loyalty to either party, they seemed to be in favor of the former Republican V.P. Candidate and her opinions of Washington. The number one concern of the crowd was government spending. Other concerns included taxes and transparency, foreign policy and the creation of jobs. Palin pointed out the empty rhetoric of the President and his attempts to soften truths with political correctness in defining war, taxes, and terrorists.

Palin received at least 11 standing ovations during her speech. While her speech was very campaign oriented, she did a great job of communicating to the crowd that she was not there to lead them, simply to support them. If she had been running a campaign, she would have had no problem obtaining the support of these welcoming independents.
