Sarah Palin's Appeal is Sex Appeal

It is no secret in America that sex sells. We use it to sell cars, appliances even luggage. No ground is off limits when it comes to using sex appeal to sell an item, not even politics.

That's right, politics.

If you are not unlike myself you have probably wondered why does America sem to not be able to get enough of Sarah Palin. You guessed it, sex appeal.

For the longest time I could not figure out why every time Ms. Palin said or did anything, the media was all over it like a dog going after the mailman. Then it hit me, she's got sex appeal.

The news media is mostly made up of men and no matter how intellectual or professional we want to appear to be, at the core of our being we are nothing more than sexual beings ( i speak of men). It has been speculated that men think about sex close to 90 per cent of the time. Put a sexy lady in front of us and we are easily at 100 per cent.

Let's be real, Sarah Palin is a sexy lady. She knows it, we know it (but won't admit it) and John McCain knew
it. My guess is that's one of the main reasons why he picked her.

Again let's be honest, McCain knew he needed the male vote. Pick a sexy, good-looking lady and you should have it. He also needed the female vote. Ah hah, Sarah Palin is definitely a female. So in essence or at least in theory, he should have been able to lock up at least two segments of the voting population with his choice of the governor.

And with the way the male-dominated news media has fallen all over itself over her, you can see the theory in practice.

Let's face facts, it is highly unlikely that John McCain picked Sarah Palin for her intellect. A posting at buzzfeed.com has an alledged copy of Sarah Palin's SAT score from high school. The score sheet shows a below average score in although it's authenticity has come into question she did attend five universities in six years to obtain a four year degree.

John McCain picked Sarah Palin for her looks, pure and simple. She was not versed on the issues and could not cite his record on hot button topics. When asked questions that a vice presidential candidate should have been able to answer, Palin was stumped. And when stumped she would resort to some folksy song and dance to divert attention away from her obvious lack of knowledge.

Substance cannot be substituted with good looks. It's just that simple, but that is exactly what John McCain tried to do.

As charming, engaging and likable as Sarah Palin might be, she was not qualified to be running for the second highest office in the land of the leader of the free world. Looking back, I think many more people can see just howscary that was.

We need our leaders to be the most intelligent, knowledgeable and well-infoormed individuals that they can possibly be. To try to put forth anything else to the American people is a travesty and a shame.

John McCain and the Republican Party tried to sell politics using sex appeal an it ddn't work.

America is not a washing machine, automobile or a bottle of perfume it is a nation of people who deserve the best that they can get.

We don't need a beauty queen, we need a leader.
