Sasha, Melanie, Ricky Strong on 'So You Think You Can Dance' Top 10

COMMENTARY | Last night, the "So You Think You Can Dance" top 10 performed with all-star alumni.

Sasha, Melanie, and Ricky were the strongest competitors of the evening. As for the rest, each contestant had strengths and weaknesses. Who's safe and who's in danger?

Leaders of the Pack

Sasha and Twitch portrayed a couple trying to rekindle their romance over breakfast. All the judges loved it. Neil Patrick Harris felt it was the best performance of the evening. Nigel grumbled that all he got for breakfast was corn flakes.

Sasha's solo was also impressive. She combined solid strength with flexibility and command of her body.

Melanie and Pasha performed an effortless Viennese waltz. The judges commented on the fluidity of the lifts and the smooth flow throughout the number. Her solo wasn't her best, but it was enough to secure her spot for next week.

Perennial bottom-dweller Ricky seems to be blossoming without Ryan holding him back.

Tyce DiOrio ventured to the dark side with Ricky and Allison's routine. Neil commented on Ricky's ability to pull off the heavy number despite his youthfulness. His solos are getting better and better as well.

Middle of the Pack

Jordan gave a strong, soulful performance with Brandon. Nigel commented on her perennial bottom-two status and urged America to save her. Her solo was decent, but not quite as impressive as her routine with Brandon.

Marko performed a samba with Chelsie. While he didn't quite match the caliber of Chelsie, the judges loved it. He also gave one of the better solos of the evening and probably did enough to keep him in the competition.

I've always seen Tadd as a middle of the pack contender. While I wasn't blown away by his "gutter sexy" routine, the judges loved it and felt that he had "out hip-hopped" Comfort. His solo was fun, though a bit repetitive.

Back of the Pack

I may take a few hits for this one, but I've just never connected with Team Adorable Clarice and Jess. I also felt that Clarice's solo was a bit stilted. Still, that Bollywood number with Robert received bastions of praise. And the fact that she performed last probably gave her a boost.

Jess turned in a fine performance this week with Kathryn. He even overcame his previous weakness, the lifts. Yet I wasn't blown away with his solo. I couldn't help comparing him to a less strong version of Evan Kasprzak.

Who's Going Home?

I would be very surprised if any boy other than Mitchell goes home this week. He dodged a bullet last week because Alexander had flubbed his solo. This week, his jazz routine with Melody was flat and disjointed. His solo was decent, but Ricky was stronger.

The girls' elimination will probably be either Jordan or Caitlynn. Caitlynn actually performed well this week, but I think people will forget to vote for her. Nigel's comments could possibly save Jordan, while Clarice's Bollywood routine will keep her around.
