Satan is Author of All Rebellion !

Shaila D Touchton
Rebellion is always connected with Stubbornness, Injustice and corruption and Contempt of God which is a Characteristic of the wicked. All rebellion is against God. Rebellion is related to pride and is the refusal to submit to God's authority and it is the spirit which leads men to do wicked things which hurt God's heart. Rebellion is the sin of witchcraft which is an abomination to the Lord according to God's Word. (1 Sam 15:23). God hates it intensely and will never accept it.

When people develop a spirit of rebellion, they will exaggerate, lie and distort the facts in an attempt to justify their own evil. All rebellion is against God. In our rebellion, we can always find a way to justify what is wrong. In fact, Satan often encourages our rebellion by lining up circumstances to ease our way down the road to rebellion.

Bible shows clearly that God hates rebellion and that He will punish the people for their sins.

Proverbs 29:1 He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.

Rebellion is AS the sin of witchcraft, that does not make it the sin of witchcraft, does it? The United States was founded in rebellion against the evil dictators of the British empire, was that rebellion against God or rebellion against evil? In Acts when some of the apostles were ordered not to preach in the name of Jesus most people would call their response rebellion, what they said was something like "It is better to obey God than man". This is a good article, and you right that rebellion against God is AS the sin of witchcraft, but I question your statement that ALL rebellion is against God.

I had to think about this for a minute and your are correct.I pondered what about evil should we rebel against evil? Well Jesus tells us to love our enemies, find strenght in the LORD and he shall tread down our enemies.AMEN

You are so right. And once we get caught in the consequences of our rebellion, we strive even more to excuse ourselves. Excellent article, my sister in Christ. Our Father in heaven continues to use you in a might way. Thanks.

Rebellion and pride are bedfellows. They both feed upon another. Satan was the first lier and rebel and his pride distorted his thinking so much that he thought he could overtake the throne of God almighty. He is the father of lies. great work Shaila, again and again, you have the gift of giving clear meaning to the Word of God.
