Satelite Pizza Review
Located in Bayport, New York
Satelite Pizza opened in 1974, and is a favorite of those residents and visitors near the Bayport area. I found that the place is under construction as they expand to help better serve customers. Despite that, it isn't difficult to find parking or where they are located.
Satelite Pizza is also owned by the same people that own the Avocados restaurant which is across the street from the CVS store we were working at.
Besides pizza, they serve subs as well as pasta for customers. The spelling is without one "l" as is indicated on the sign outside their place. It was a good getaway from lunch despite that it looks like a small chain from the outside of the place.
My Review
The bad: As of right now, construction is going on as they are expanding. While it isn't far to park, it can be a tight area to drive around in as a result of the construction. You would have to park in the back of Satelite Pizza until it is complete. The food is a litte expensive.
The good: The display of pizza they offer is unique, and it makes you quickly erase the feel of it being a small pizza chain. Though it is more expensive than other pizza chains in Blue Point, the quality is as good as it gets. The staff is very good and you get a feel of a cool hangout place when eating there for lunch or dinner. It is a great place for birthday parties as well as other special occasions for those you know. And they offer gift certificates, too.
Overall: If you're in the Bayport area on Long Island and are in the mood for pizza, Satelite Pizza is a must stop for you. Behind the counter are the pizzas on display that you can order. The prices are high, but you will enjoy the food they offer. In fact when I was sent to another store upon returning to Long Island, I went back to Satelite Pizza which was only about 15 minutes away. Even Ted from the Roger and JP morning show on the local WBAB 102.3 radio station chose Satelite Pizza in a blind taste test. Do check it out because it is the best pizza place in the Bayport-Blue Point area!
