Satellite TV for PC, How it Really Works

In this article I would like to discuss this new piece of software that is on the market, called "Satellite TV For PC". From the title we understand that it will allow you to watch TV channels on your computer. I have bought it and tried it out, and what it says it is true, it will allow you to watch a lot of TV stations from all over the world on your computer. It is very easy to install, and it does not require anything else but to download and install it, no dish, no decoder.

I was first amazed when I found it, because I thought it is a revolutionary product, and well, it will change the way people will look at their computers. From now on, they will not rely on only the TV set in order to watch satellite TV, but their computer also. I have noticed then, that some of the stations have good quality, and some have bad quality, some worked, and some did not, some kept blocking, and some run smoothly.

After noticing this, I started to inspect the program, and I noticed, that each time I am switching stations on the menu, it is trying to access a different Internet IP address. After I studied what address it was trying to access, I figured out the secret of this software, which is, it is not doing anything but play, using the normal Windows Media Player(tm), or Real Player(tm) the public broadcast of stations from all over the world.

The software grabs the broadcast from the web sites, and puts it in a window on your screen, for you to watch. That is why some stations have good and bad quality, some work fine, and some work very slow, it all depends on how that TV station is broadcasting on line, what Internet speed they have, and what Internet speed you have.

They just gathered a list of links of web sites that contain live TV broadcasts, and when you switch stations, you actually watch it from another link. You can find this list on line, for free. So basically, they charge a price for that, and I am sure they are not giving anything to the stations they use in their software.

I think the price is worth what they offer, the advantage is you can see all the stations categorized in a list, and you are not bothered by the commercials, or you need to load the whole web site, you just watch the broadcast in a window, so I recommend it to all who want that, but be sure to know how it really works, and not expect some extraordinary results.
