Satin Nickel Finish Tension Rod Shower and Tub Caddy: A $40 Bargain

Suzanne Rose
When I lived at home, our shower had two skinny tiny shelves only. That meant every time we showered, we had to bring in our own shampoos and body washes, and try to find a spot for everything without it falling down throughout the shower. That is when I found the Satin Nickel Finish Tension Rod Shower and Tub Caddy at Bed Bath and Beyond for only $40. That was years ago, then I got married and moved to a house that had zero shelves in the tub. Knowing I already loved this product, I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and put the same thing on my registry. The great thing about this store is the products consistently stay over time as this same product is still for sale today - 2 years after I got mine, and even more years after I got my mom's.

The Satin Nickel Finish Tension Rod Shower and Tub Caddy is very easy to put together and I put both together myself. It comes with 4 bins and various polls that you can arrange however you wish. Both ends have a rubber piece on them to keep it in place as well as avoid scratching up your tub. Finally, one end has a spring in it so that it easily adjusts to any height you want so it works for various bathtubs. You may have to experiment with where you want the bins, but it's actually pretty easy to move them up and down so they can be at the perfect height.

There are the 4 bins, as I mentioned, and each has it's own great purpose. You may re-arrange them various times after your first couple of uses as it's hard to determine what one is best to be on top or bottom at first. It really depends on what you use the most. As you can see on mine, I decided to put one of the shorter bins on top to hold stuff I don't access all the time such as my shower cap. This bin rests a little bit above my head so I can reach up there easily when I need it. The second bin is made for soap, and also has an area for smaller things. I put this at neck level basically so I could easily reach the soap. I use the smaller area in the back for skinnier things such as travel shampoos and samples. Next is another shorter bin which works great for a few things I need at hand. The towel holder on both of these short bins is ideal for a place to keep the towel you are currently using. Finally, the bottom bin is where I keep my tall and heavy shampoos so they won't easily fall out.

I've had this for a few years and see no signs of it getting old. The Satin Nickel Finish is still as nice as ever, outside of a little bit of soap from my most recent bar. It cleans up easily whenever I decide to wipe it down once a month or so. The product shows no signs of weakness either as the bins never moved since I installed them and the bar has not slid away from the wall or bathtub corner at all. Obviously you won't want to be hanging on it or pulling on it, but overall even when I've bumped it or pulled it a little it stayed in place.

Overall, the Satin Nickel Finish Tension Rod Shower and Tub Caddy comes very highly recommended. I've seen similar products at Bed Bath and Beyond for $100, but this one is wonderful at $40. Plus, if you bring in your 20% coupon you'll get an even better deal! Go to Bed Bath and Beyond today to purchase this or add it to your registry.
