Saturday Night Football NFL Picks - Analysis for Dallas
The Cowboys come into Saturday Night Football on a 2 game losing streak after back to back losses to the Chargers and Giants. Is the December curse real or did they just lose 2 tough games? I don't think the losses have as much to do with the calendar as it does with the Cowboy roster. Taking a look at the schedule up to this point, they lose to good teams and beat bad teams. While they've beaten up on sub .500 teams with a perfect 7-0 record, against teams with winning records, they are only 1-5 . On the field, the status of their best player, Demarcus Ware, for Saturday Night is very much in question as he was carted off the field last week. Whether he plays in the football game or not, he couldn't possibly be 100% physically or mentally after such a scary injury.
Saturday Night Football NFL Picks - Analysis for New Orleans
The Saints coast into Saturday Night Football a perfect 13-0. During their impressive streak they've shown the ability to win in every which way possible: close games, blow outs, comebacks and even overtime. With Sean Peyton drawing up plays for Drew Brees that spread the ball all over the field, it's impossible for a defense to guess where the ball might be going. Their high octane offense is even more dangerous indoors on turf where the elements can't help out a defense by slowing them down. Their key injuries are on defense with cornerbacks Jabari Greer and Tracy Porter out, but others like Mike McKenzie have filled in admirably. Darren Sharper is having his best season in a career filled with multiple pro bowl selections.
Saturday Night Football NFL Picks - Head to Head Analysis
Dallas needs this game more than the Saints do as a loss would drop them to 8-6 and allow other wild card hopeful teams to catch up. Unfortunately for Dallas, the Saints still want to keep their foot on the gas as they strive for a perfect season. It's no surprise that the Saints will win the game, but the all important question is by how many points? The Cowboys secondary hasn't been all that great this season and I don't see how they could possibly slow down the New Orleans air attack. Dallas will have to try and win the time of possession by running the football, but Marion Barber is not the runner he was before. The injury to Demarcus Ware can't be emphasized enough. He is their big play pass rush guy that helps out the secondary. If he doesn't play or isn't 100%, Dallas will struggle even more to defend the pass, which is bad news for them since New Orleans is the best passing team in football. In the end, it's just too much fire power for the Cowboys to contend with and the Saints will win by 2 touchdowns.
