Saturn's transit to Moon Sign Virgo

According to Vedic Astrology, the transition of Lord Saturn (Lord Sani or Saneeswara = Sanskrit term gives the meaning 'Slow Mover') from Moon sign Leo (Simha Rasi) to Moon sign Virgo takes place in the month of September 2009 in Uttaraphalguni nakshatra. The Vedic almanacs (Vakkiya Panchangams = As Predicted by Sages and Preached by word of mouth) followed in Andhra Pradesh and few other North Indian States, mark the transition on September 09, 2009. However, Drik Ganith almanacs (Thiru Ganitha Panchangams = As calculated by Indian sages using ancient astronomical theories and facts) followed in Tamil Nadu and few other South Indian States mark the transition exactly at 03.27 P.M on September 26, 2009 - Saturday.

Lord Saturn's Virgo Transition

Lord Saturn, the slow mover, will take thirty months in to pass through the Moon sign Virgo (Rasi Kanni) and its constellations (according to sidereal zodiac). The retrogression of this planet will take place at 10 degrees of Moon Sign Virgo during January 14, 2009 in Hasta star constellation and this planet resumes its direct motion on May 31, 2010 in Uttaraphalguni star constellation. The second retrogression will takes place on January 27, 2011 and continues till June 13, 2011. The third retrogression will be between February 8, 2012 and May 17, 2012. The next transition of this planet from Moon sign Virgo to Moon sign Libra (Rasi Thulam) will be after thirty months.

Saturn's Astronomy

Astronomically Saturn is considered as the sixth planet from the planet Sun. Among the planets of your solar system Saturn is also considered as the second largest planet. According to Vedic astrology , the transitions of planets Saturn, Jupiter and the shadow planets Raghu and Ketu influence some special aspects.
The ancient Hindu scripts (Markandeya Purana) identifies Saturn as son of Lord Sun (Lord Surya). There are two consorts to Sun God - Usha Devi and Chaya Devi. Chaya Devi (Shadow Goddess) gave birth to Lord Saturn. Lord Saturn is noted by his cool and lethargic (tamasik) character. The Vedic Astrology considers that the 'sight' of Lord Saturn will bring malefic effects. The malefic effects could be slowing your matters or delaying from getting results within reasonable time and putting obstructions as well. He also brings separation among families as well as among family members. The planet also brings favors to someone at the right time and he also lifts and mitigates the subjects from pains, hardships, miseries and misfortunes.

Saturn's Astrology

Saturn, the Lord of Rings also Lord of Karma, rules the Moon signs Capricorn (Makara) and Aquarius (Kumbha) the Moola-trikona sign. The planet is exalted in the Moon sign Libra (Thulam) and debilitated in the Moon sign Aries (Mesha). The Moon signs Mercury (Budhan), Venus (Shukra) and Raghu are the natural friends of Lord Saturn and the Moon signs Sun (Surya), Moon (Chandra), Mars (Mangal or Chevvay) and Ketu are the natural enemies of this planet. The planet rules the eighth Pushya, seventeenth star constellation Anuradha and twenty sixth star constellation Uttara Bhadrapada.
