Savannah Gay Pride

Calling all gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transsexual people, it's that time of the year again. Savannah Gay Pride is right around the corner. I'm hear to tell you all about it. Now we don't have a big name like Kimberley Locke, but we do have Lady Bunny this year.

You may have never heard of her. I sure didn't until I googled her yesterday. She is a comedienne, actress, DJ, songwriter, singer and the founder of Wigstock. Its a huge drag festival in New York. It's been going on for about 20 years now. You also may have seen her in the tv show Sex and the City, or the movies Party Girl and To Wong Foo. She represents drag queens to the fullest.

I can't wait to see her at this year's Savannah Pride. Now it will be hosted by fellow drag queens, Destiny Myklz, Tiffany Dubois, and Layla Foxx. They are equally as beautiful. They are local drag queens. Savannah Gay Pride is being held at Johnson Square from 11am to 9pm. There will be booths advertising local gay churchs and gay youth groups. There will also be booths selling pride jewelry, t-shirts, and books. Or come just to se the drag show. You can meet all the beautiful drag queens and take pictures with them.

Remember to visit the many events that happen before Savannah Pride Festival. Mr. Savannah Pride Pageant is on Friday September 5th. Its hosted by Club One. Entry fee is $45 dollars. There will be cash and prizes for the winners. Ms. Savannah Pride Pageant is September 18th. Its also hosted by Club One. Now after the Savannah Pride Festival, the after party is at Club One.

So everybody come to Savannah Gay Pride because this year is going to be bigger and better!
