Savannah, Georgia: Must See Attractions

The coastal city of Savannah is situated on the shores of southern Georgia. Established back in 1733, this beach town boasts close to seven million visitors each year, who come to enjoy exploring the area and the serene beauty that it has to offer. There are a multitude of things to do and see when you visit Savannah. Below are the places that are must see.

Organized Tours

The city of Savannah has a business by the name of The Old Savannah Tour Company, which offers multiple tours, each with a theme. One has a pirate theme, another a ghostly night tour, with other ones available as well. The Ghostly Nights tour can be taken in the evening and gives an outline of the hauntings of Savannah, also known as the "most haunted City in America. This particular tour includes a complete dinner at a restaurant called Pirates' House, known for its haunted activities.

Oatland Wildlife Center

The Oatland Wildlife Center of Savannah, offers a walk through the beautiful faux-natural habitats of many animal species of the North American continent. The animals include include bison, deer, owls, moose and more. This child friendly wildlife center is set up so the animals have wide open space to roam around. This attractions is friendly for adults and children alike.

Island Miniature Golf and Games

This 18-hole mini golf course offers an exciting course, complete with streams, ponds, rock obstacle courses and more, mimicking an actual golf course. There is a fun center with arcade games, bumper cars, a moon walk, and batting cages for people of all ages to enjoy. There are even private rooms for private parties that are accessible for large groups.

Telfair Museum of Art

The Telfair Museum of Art was first established back in 1883, making it the oldest museum that features art in the southern region of the united States. This museum is a historic mansion that was restored and made into the museum that is is today. The Telfair boasts more than 4,000 pieces of art that are displayed throughout the mansion, which includes pieces that date all the way back the the 1700s, with some contemporary art from the 20th and 21st centuries. This is one place that should not be missed when visiting the Savannah area.

The Beach

Of course while you are visiting, bring your sunscreen, as you must not neglect a visit to the beautiful sandy beach.
