How do we get Americans working? Not through government spending which produces nothing but debt and rewards the board of directors of major corporations. What we need is the incentive for companies to create jobs. Giving them worthless paper money isn't the answer. To create jobs you need a product to sell and customers to buy.
IF the politicians will quit running for office by doling out wasteful earmarks they would cut the CORPORATE TAX to "0" on Manufacturing companies. American manufacturing can compete in world markets when the cost of their products is less than the cost of the same products produced in another country. As long as we maintain the highest CORPORATE tax rates in the country we can't compete globally. Don't bailout; enable the manufacturing companies to compete. Leave the corporate tax in place on the non-manufacturing companies such as banking!
Second, nationalize the refineries not the banks. Oil has made America great and there is no denying that fact. We built our economy on cheap fuel. Our real woes began when we started importing more oil than we produced. We have the major refineries in the world in the United States. What we don't have is crude. Oh, we have it but we aren't getting it out of the ground. The resources are there and more than amble to last ten years which is what the politicians are projecting as the timeline to switch to ALTERNATIVE energy. The problem is we don't have ten years to way because our economy is in the tank and we are all but in a DEPRESSION.
The politicians need to stop taking the environmentalist campaign contributions and pass the legislation needed to produce crude oil. The climate may be warming but imagine the millions of people who will die of starvation, disease and neglect if we do not get America back to work. We have an immediate national disaster on our doorsteps. Oil production is essential to creating jobs and getting America back to work. Cheap fuel means jobs, it means being able to compete as we once did in the global marketplace.
All across the United States there are factories standing empty. Our manufacturing has moved overseas. Only when fuel becomes affordable and manufacturing corporate tax is removed can we create jobs and get Americans working. Bring back the jobs from China and other third world countries by making American products affordable. America has the technology, the people and the will to work and compete. What we need are politicians who will FIGHT for the American worker and not the special interest groups.
