Review
SaveMyDocs is a very simple application - it does only one thing - it allows users to save files from Safari to the iPhone or iPod Touch and view them later.
The application provides integration with the Safari browser through a bookmark. This bookmark may be added to the browser by visiting the website, adding the bookmark, and then editing it. Why edit? The bookmark has to begin with 'Javascript'.
Anytime a user wants to save a file, he simply needs to use the bookmark and the file will be saved automatically in the application (provided the file is of a supported format).
The file, once saved, may be viewed at any time. The viewer itself is similar in look to all other viewers: users can go through the document page by page, with zoom features. There is, however, no search feature. Users cannot view the document in landscape mode as well nor rename the file or view file details.
SaveMyDocs works as it should - no frills, simple, yet sadly, still needs a few enhancements when it comes to the application's features. It is a great application for people on the go who need quick access to documents.
With new version of SaveMyDocs 3.0, you can share your files across internet and even download and upload the files from anywhere as long as your iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Pricing
SaveMyDocs application is available for purchase at the App Store for $3.99. SaveMyDocs Lite version is also available to free download at iTunes Store that has some features disabled in comparison to the full version of the application.
Conclusion
The SaveMyDocs integration with the iPhone is far above average, as is its user interface and re-usability. However, the price of the application is a little bit high. Still, the Save My Docs 2.0 application gets a solid rating of 4 out of 5.
