Christmas is closer than we think! With all the prices going up at retail stores, its hard to come up with great decoration ideas that won't leave us broke for the holidays. Here are some great ways to save money when shopping for the holidays!

Decorations can be a pain. Why go out every year and waste money on new decorations when you have perfectly good ones in your closet? Pull out the dusty box of ornaments and get to crafting! Spray paint some old ornaments to give it a different look and feel for this holiday season! Add some glitter and who can forget, some swirls to give it a great look! Don't have much to start with? No worries! Go to your local dollar store and purchase some cheap ornaments, then spice them up however you wish! You'll keep these treasures for years to come!

Who can forget the Christmas tree? Its the center piece decoration for this popular holiday. Want to do something different? Here is a simple trick to make it look completely different! Just don't add a tree topper! Its true! You wouldn't believe how much of a difference it makes to not add anything to the top of the tree. So skip the angel and bow this year!

With all the great colors this season to choose from, its hard to decide what type of theme to go for. Why not do a black, white and silver theme? It will be elegant and not to mention, defiantly different! Your local Wal-Mart should stock black and silver ornaments and accessories. Look into these items to create a look that will defiantly make memories this Christmas season.

Christmas cards are essential this year! Why not make your own to add a personal touch! Start up your computer, and decorate your own Christmas cards. You'll save money, and not to mention, these cards will truly be unique. You'll defiantly have some compliments on these one of a kind treasures that you created.

Christmas is a time of year to be thankful and jolly with the family. No one said you had to be generic and waste all your hard earned money! Spend this year creating your own Christmas theme, and have fun while you're doing it! But the old and worn out Christmas stockings away and start fresh with a new look! Have fun this year and Happy Christmas!
