Save Money on eBay Listings with Auctiva Auction Software

How You Can Get More Features for Free

If you are selling items on eBay which require many detailed pictures, if you want a classy auction design but do not have the skills or the money to pay a web designer to create one for you, or if you need to list multiple listings at a specific time, consider using Auctiva Auction Software for your eBay auctions.

EBay charges between $0.20 and $4.80 to put up an auction listing, plus a portion of whatever amount you make for selling your item. However, that is not the only way that eBay makes money off of its sellers. There are fees for pretty much everything: bolding a title, adding more than one photo, putting a small gallery photo next to your title, getting a featured listing, or placing the auction in more than one category.

Here are a few ways Auctiva can help you save:

1. Photos EBay typically charges $0.15 per picture with one free picture per listing. If you have an item with fine details which requires multiple pictures in a listing, this gets pretty expensive. With Auctiva, you do not have to pay for any pictures. Since Auctiva creates custom design templates, the photos become imbedded in the design code, so eBay does not recognize them as a separate feature.

2. Scheduling Listings In Advance Many eBay sellers like to list their products in advance. eBay offers a scheduling feature, but it costs about $0.10 per listing. This may not sound like much if you are only listing a couple of items every month, but if you are a regular seller without an eBay store, this adds up. Auctiva allows you to schedule listings in advance without having to pay the fee. The system saves your requested date and time and a computer forwards the information to eBay at exactly the moment when you requested. Generally, it will get forwarded to eBay within 30 seconds.

3. Having a Store Auctiva creates an auction store for you. While this is not entirely as convenient as the eBay Store, it is free. You still have to pay eBay for the listings, but Auctiva cross-references your listings and puts a convenient banner at the top of every auction so that customers can clearly see what other items you have for sale. Auctiva also allows you to put links in your store to your main website and includes detailed contact information not available in eBay. The store feature works well when you have many listings on a regular basis.

You can also get a URL for your Auctiva store so that you can send your information to search engines or promote your store online. Why pay eBay $30 or more when you'll have to promote your products on other websites and search engines anyway? EBay has decreased the visibility of auctions listed by their eBay Stores and has encouraged owners to promote their items outside of eBay to generate sales. If you are a blogger, you can also set up your own blog through Auctiva to promote your auction listings.

4. Free Design Templates If you are a novice to web design, Auctiva Auction Software can help you to create an interesting background for your eBay auction free of charge. There are basic backgrounds with a solid color such as green, pink, blue, or black as well as creative designs which compliment whatever you are selling (for example, there are backgrounds of beaches, castles, toys, presents, stamps, coins, and more).

If you are anything like me, you've gotten bored with the plain white background that eBay offers. Chances are, your customers are too! And no HTML experience is required! EBay generally assumes that you know how to separate paragraphs, change font size, and bold letters through HTML. Save yourself time and money and just go with Auctiva.

Auctiva also keeps records of all of your listings so that you can re-create the same listing again. Each listing includes the same sections as eBay listings do to make sure you do not miss any important details. There is also an option to estimate eBay fees and to preview the listing. It will even check for errors to make sure you didn't skip over an important section required by eBay.

My only complaint is that there is no option for the eBay Value Pack, which gives you a gallery photo next to the title, a subtitle, and a listing designer. Though you do not need a listing designer (Auctiva takes care of that), you do actually save about $0.20 by selecting the Value Pack versus doing it straight through Auctiva. Note: This only applies if you are using a subtitle in your listing. You will still save money on other elements, but if you only have one picture included in your listing, you end up paying a little extra. My advice is that if you list the same product on a regular basis, choose the re-listing option directly through eBay when you list the item again so that you can go in and choose the Value Pack. Then, you'll still have the Auctiva template saved into the listing and you can save the extra $0.20 the second time around.

Use Auctiva Auction Software to make creative backgrounds, avoid HTML codes, and to save money!
