Save Money with Homemade Stickers for Kids Crafts

Homemade Stickers for Holidays, Scrapbooking, and Crafts

Do you go to the craft store constantly to buy stickers for scrapbooking, kids crafts, holiday decorations, or just fun crafts for kids to do? Save money by making your own sticker solution. This is great because you can turn any picture into a sticker. Use wrapping paper, magazine pictures, photos, computer printouts, or your child's own drawings.

Children love to see pictures they have drawn magically turned into stickers that they can use in preschool, kindergarten, or scout meetings. They can impress their friends with homemade stickers in endless topics from superheroes, animals, outer space, or anything they can think of!

The sticker solution is quick and easy to make. It will save you time and money, plus the kids love to choose the pictures and make the stickers.

Sticker Solution Recipe:

1 tsp. flavored gelatin of your choice.

2 tsp. boiling water

Mix the gelatin and water into a small bowl. Stir until the gelatin is dissolved. Let the solution cool off for about a minute. While the solution is still warm, have the children brush on a thin coat on the back of the cutouts that they chose. They can use their finger, a cotton swab, or a paint brush.

When the solution on the cutout is dry, lick the sticker and use just as you would a store bought sticker. The kids will love not only the homemade sticker but the taste and smell, as well.

Another way to make economical, homemade stickers is to buy a package of address labels. These are available in a variety of sizes to make small to large sized stickers.

Have the children draw a design, picture of their favorite character, animal, or hobby on the label. Voila! They have created their own original stickers.

These can also be used to teach preschoolers their letters and numbers, using the stickers to reinforcing number and letter recognition and memory skills.
