Save Money on Name Brand Clothes at the Flea Market

If you want to wear stylish name brand clothes, but cannot stand the super high prices, go shopping at the flea market. Flea market vendors are interested in bringing the hottest merchandise to the buying public, and that means dealing in name brand items. Shopping for name brand clothes at the flea market can save you a lot of money.

Name Brand Clothes at the Flea Market - Pros

If you can find new or very gently used name brand clothing for sale at the flea market, you know you will get a good deal. Saving money on trendy fashion is always a good thing for those who want to look their best. Besides saving money on name brand clothes at the flea market, you may be able to find styles that are not readily available in your area. Flea market vendors who buy straight from wholesalers or liquidation centers may have access to wider product lines than your local boutique carries. This is because they have access to complete product lines, or products that boutiques did not want to carry because of price or style.

Name Brand Clothes at the Flea Market - Cons

The biggest argument against shopping for name brand clothes at the flea market is the problem with fakes. Every name brand item has been ripped off and made as a fake: watches, clothing, handbags, sunglasses, jeans, and more. Unfortunately, while this practice of selling knock-offs is illegal, there are many flea market vendors who get away with it. Learn the signs of spotting a fake for the particular name brand you are interested in. The difference may be as small as the color of stitching or an extra line on a label.

Besides the need to weed out fake name brand merchandise, there are also no facilities to try on clothing at a flea market. Knowing your measurements may help determine if you will fit in a great pair of jeans. There are also usually no returns or refund policies in place.

Still, with careful and knowlegable shopping, you can save money on name brand clothes at the flea market. Going to the flea market with information about your exact size, the name brands that you are interested in, and the difference between real items and fake copies is important. Style at affordable prices can be just a few miles further down the road than your local, over-priced shopping mall.

I love going to the flea market and shopping for a bargain. You are right that purchasing clothes at the flea market carries the risk of purchasing knock offs. But truth be told, if I like how something looks I really don't care what the brand is. My son and husband are completely the opposite though and won't buy if they think something isn't really the brand that they want it to be.
