Save Money on Shampoo

There are tons of ways to save money on shampoo but too many of us still find ourselves running to the store once a month to purchase our favorite brand. Shampoo has come a long way since our grandmothers use to have to make it by hand and even though this may be the cheapest way to save money on shampoo, it might not be what you want to do. My family size consists of six children and two adults so I am always finding ways to save money on items such as shampoo.

Being cheap and saving money on shampoo doesn't necessarily mean that you must sacrifice style. I have found a ton of ways to save money on shampoo and here are some of my personal favorites.

Dilute the bottle

Shampoo can actually be diluted and still work well. Some people say to dilute the bottle of shampoo with ¾ water but I usually add a little more shampoo than this. I also use a pump bottle to dispense the shampoo and have found that it actually causes you to lose less shampoo since it dispenses out the right amount. I would have to say that this is one of my favorite ways to save money on shampoo.

Add Vinegar

Vinegar can be used for a lot of things and one of my favorite ways for oily hair is to add it to shampoo. Adding vinegar to shampoo will not only make your hair cleaner but it will also help you to save money on shampoo. Adding vinegar to your shampoo can also help those who get sores on their head and may even help to stay clear of head lice. Be warned though, the vinegar may sting your head a little if it has a few sores on it.

Lemon it up

Instead of washing your hair everyday with shampoo try to use diluted lemon juice. The lemon juice will help to get your hair clean and it even causes your hair to not be so oily. If you choose to go this way make sure that you leave the lemon juice on for ten minutes before rinsing off. Lemon juice is also a great way to get highlights in your hair if you leave it on and go out in the sun. Lemon juice is a great way to save money on shampoo and to get great natural highlights.

Coupons

I use to hate using coupons because it made me feel so cheap but then I got over it when I realized how much money I would be saving. Using coupons not only helps you to save money on shampoo but it also gives you a little lead way for trying out other shampoos. When using coupons you should examine how much your regular brand is and if you would actually be saving money by trying out this other shampoo. If you wouldn't be saving any money then it wouldn't be worth using the coupons.

Shampoo free hair

Shampoo free hair can be done and a lot of people are doing it since it is good for the economy and for their budget. Going shampoo free doesn't mean that you don't get to wash you hair, you just wash it in an entirely different way. Washing your hair with apple cider and baking soda can save you money on shampoo and it can even be beneficial for your hair. If you are looking for different ways to mix the apple cider and baking soda to make your own shampoo you can visit Zork Planet.

Free Shampoo and beauty products

Believe it or not there are actually companies that give away free beauty products including shampoo and samples. Since a lot of places are giving these bottles and samples away you can spend less and get to try out different types of products.
