Save Money by Spending Money Purchasing Items for Your Home

You can save a lot of money every month by purchasing new appliances and different items. For example, you can replace all of your current light bulbs in your home with fluorescent light bulbs and save yourself around $100 a year. This means you will save about $10 a month just by switching all of your light bulbs to fluorescent bulbs. That's a good way to save a little bit of extra money.

You can purchase space heaters to heat only the rooms that you are in and you can save about $1200 a year. This comes out to about $100 a month you will save from purchasing about $100 in space heaters. You can place them in the rooms that you are in such as your living or dining room. Remember to shut them off when you leave for a long period of time. This will save you a lot of money in the winter months.

If you purchase a newer fridge you will only save about $3.50 per month which means you will save about $35 a year. At that rate it would cost you about 8 years to make the money back from purchasing your new fridge, so in this case you will only want to purchase a new fridge if your current one is broken or not working right.

If you purchase a new washer and dryer you will save at least about $20 or $30 per month. If you stop running your dryer for half the amount of time that you usually do you will save a good amount of money as well. If you run your dryer for 4 hours per day you will spend about $60. You will probably spend about $40 with a brand new dryer. If you only run it about 2 hours per day you will save yourself about $30 a month. Since dryers are expensive, you will not start to see yourself saving money until you've broken even from purchasing a new dryer.

One very important thing to remember is that using your water heater will cost you a lot of money. This means that when you use hot water you are spending much more money than cold water. If you wash your clothes in cold water instead of warm water you will save yourself about $12 every single month. One of my credit cards has a $500 limit and it costs me $15 a month. This means with the money I would save washing my clothes in cold water, I could pay off my credit card bill which then saves me another $500.
