We entered the shop, and I started picking up several items. The one that caught my eye was the "Stay Fresh Product Bags." I had thought about buying them, because I knew that over time they would pay for themselves. The great news was that they were only $3, and no S & H.
I purchased a few items from the gentleman at the cash register. He didn't give me a receipt, so I asked for one. He then had to key in the amounts to tender me the receipt. This is the only way I can keep a record of what I buy, and how much I pay for it.
I got the product home, and on the front of the box it shows fresh fruit and vegetables. It then shows bananas in the bag, and bananas going rotten not bagged. It also states that they are re-usable.
Immediately I got home I couldn't wait to use them. There are 10 large bags, which are 17 inches by 12 inches, and 10 small bags that are 15 inches by 9 inches. They are a light green color.
I took out one of the light green bags, and it was a small one. I had 3 bananas so I put them into it. I then got 2 larger bags, as I had purchased 5 lbs of apples, I split them into the 2 bags and folded over the ends, and put them in the fridge.
Next it was my onions and potatoes. I used small bags for both of these, as I only had a few left. I then put them back in the fridge. I also had two on the vine tomatoes, and lettuce, which I put in small bags.
The next day I had cereal, and sliced half a banana on it. I put the other half back into the bag, with the 2 whole ones. The next morning I wiped out a little condensation with paper towel, and put the bananas in the bag, back on the counter top. Today I made pancakes, and the half a banana was still fresh. I only had to take the first slice off, that had turned black. The other 2 bananas are still fresh. By now I would have thrown them all away.
Last night we had a couple of the apples, and they were perfect in the green bag. There was no condensation.
Yesterday I used half a tomato in a sandwich, and normally I would put the other half in a Ziploc bag. I returned it to the green bag. I took out a large leaf of my Romaine lettuce too. I did have to dry the inside of the green bag, but the lettuce was fresh.
Today I have checked all my fruit, salad, and vegetables, and they are all fresh. I know that I have already covered the $3 I paid for these bags, and it has been less than a week.
On the back of the box it tells you how these bags work. They absorb and remove harmful gases, as they contain natural mineral Oya.
The bags should be rinsed, and dried between uses. Do not put different items in the same bag. Make sure that the fruits or vegetables are dry before putting in the bag. Do not secure the bags, just fold them over.
They even tell you that you can keep fresh flowers longer by putting a bag over the top of them at night. Then you take it off in the morning.
Now I have these in the house, I wish that I had purchased them when they first came out. Len likes ice burg lettuce, and I can't stand them, I just want a green or purple lettuce myself. So he would have it for one meal, and then it would sit in the fridge, and I would throw it away. From now on I will use a Stay Fresh Produce Bag and he can use it a week later. I have every confidence in them.
There is no manufacturers details on the box, website, or telephone number. When I checked on the Internet I could only find places to buy them at $9.99.

Post a CommentI have seen them but didn't really believe the ads. Thanks for making a believer out of me!
Good work ♥ thanks for sharing - anything that helps keep produce fresh is a great find:)
Tony, I have now had them for around 3 weeks, and I haven't thrown any product away.
Good review. I haven't used them, but I have seem the commercials. They did sell bananas in special packaging at a premium price in Publix at one time, and several weeks later they were still yellow, however the inside wasn't such good news, they tasted horrible.
Good to know. I'll have to visit the mall and pick some up.
Great article! Thanks for sharing =0)
