Save Money by Using Twitter

Social Media Can Provide a Way for You to Save Money

Jean Marquit
Whether or not social media can be monetized, providing a solid business model is up for debate. Businesspeople and social media mavens alike consider the possibilities and argue the usefulness of sites like Twitter. For savvy consumers, though, Twitter is already valuable. Several companies offer special deals, coupons and exclusive sales by tweeting promo codes to their follows. If you are looking for some good deals, here are some companies to considering following on Twitter:

@JetBlueCheeps8: Every Tuesday, JetBlue tweets ridiculously cheap deals on certain flights. If you are looking for a great deal on a quick trip, follow this feed to get the goods.

@United Airlines: You can get "Twares," which are special fares only for followers. Beware, though: These sell out fast, and they are hidden amongst policy and customer service tweets.

@DellOutlet2: If you don't mind a limited selection, you can get access to exclusive sales on computers from Dell when you follow this account on Twitter.

@OfficeDepot5: Get exclusive promos and coupon codes from Office Depot.

You can also find a number of Twitter accounts that offer coupon codes and promo feeds on a variety online offerings. Some of the good places to look for coupon help via Twitter include @CouponShoebox, @CouponSherpa and @couponmom. If you don't want to trawl Twitter yourself, aggregator www.CheapTweet.com does it for you, finding coupons and hot deals from a number of feeds offering discounts and promo codes.
