Saving Money on Back to School Photos

Back to school means it is time for the yearly picture of your child. Most parents are dreading this day, this year. Money is tight and pictures are so expensive. Most photographers offer packages that include either to many photos or not enough photos. Meaning parents have to upgrade to a larger package spending more money than they planned on or not send everyone pictures. There are options to not using the school photographer and saving money on taking your own photos.

On school picture day make sure to send your child dressed for a picture. Even if you are not purchasing a package you want your child to look adorable in the class picture. Some photographer's will allow for parents to just order the class picture, even if you are not getting a package. This way your child will have a picture of their friends.

Once picture day is over, it is time to have your child's personal picture day. Have them dress in the same outfit they wore for the class picture. Next you want to decide where you are going to photograph your child. Since these is your own personal picture you can do exactly what you want. If you would like it to look close to a school photo, find a well lit area, using a sheet either color or white for a background will give the photo the same appeal that it was taken at the school. Otherwise find a great scenic background at a park, in your backyard or some other area you love. Now you can have your child pose any way you would like. Try some head on shots, have them lean against a tree with one leg propped up behind. Use any ideas that you find appealing in a photo. You can even include the family pet in the shots, after all these are your own personal school photos.

When you have finished with the photos. Time to view the photos, either on your home computer or at the nearest photo lab in the neighborhood. Once you are able to view the photos, you can change the lighting, color and even crop the photo. Once you have picked out your perfect picture it is time to order prints. Many retail stores offer photo services, and there are also many on the internets. Take some time to look for coupons or packages that fit your needs and you will save even more money.
