Saving Money on iPods

Find Bargains on iPods for the Holidays

Erin Duff
Of all the MP3 players, the iPod is king. However, it still seems to cost the most among all the others. Maybe that's part of the appeal for some, but it doesn't discount the fact that it might be on your family member's Christmas lists. When hunting for gifts, however, it's best to find sales whenever possible. This guide will help you find some deals during the holidays so you can buy the iPod of your choice.

First, consider shopping on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving). Many stores have sales during certain shopping hours, and iPods may either be on sale or come with rebates. Check out MicroCenter, Target, and Wal-Mart for deals. You may have to stand in long lines and fight the crowds, but the deals are worth it when the day is done!

Check out online sources such as eBay, Half.com, or Amazon.com. You can find bargains on iPods if you're willing to search a bit. If using eBay, you'll have the option to bid on items or use the "buy it now" option, and you won't have to wait and see if you're the highest bidder.

Think about stores that offer gift cards. Target may advertise a special offer if you spend a certain amount on electronics, and you may get a gift card up to $100. When my husband and I upgraded our iPods, we bought them at Target and were able to use the gift cards for other purchases. While the iPod cost retail price, we were able to save on other gifts with the gift card we received.

Check out http://www.cheapsipods.us/. You can browse through all different kinds of iPods including the iPod shuffle, classic model, nanos, and the iPod touch to see what websites are offering different specials. You can even purchase older generations, which are cheaper as the newer versions are released. There are also refurbished models, which may not be a bad choice.

Consider used iPods. While some may not want to buy a used model, there are iPods that are in near perfect condition online. If you're looking for a deal or a good bargain, think about this option. Some come with their original packaging, and should come erased of the previous owner's files.

No matter what generation, iPods can be the perfect gift for the holidays. Consider adding an iTunes gift card to help your gift recipient's music collection begin to build, or you can add music to the iPod before giving the gift. Hopefully, you can find a good deal, and the iPod will make a perfect gift for your loved one!
