Saving Money with Samples

Danielle L
Many people think partaking in samples are a a waste of time big most samples are only good for one use. Well before you dismiss this article please read on and take a look at how much you can SAVE each year using samples!!
A Total of $240 EACH YEAR!!!

Ok excuse number 1: It takes to long to fill out the Sample forms. Not any more. Download the free version of Robo Form http://www.roboform.com/. This program wont only store your passwords it stores a profile too. I have several profiles set one my personal one, a 'junk' email and one for my blog. For a profile you can set up your name, email, address, phone number, birthday, website and more. Then with ONE simple click the whole form is filled out!! Then you just have to click agree and if you want to receive their newsletter. Some form ask you 2-5 simple questions so in less then 30 seconds you have filled out the form and your sample is on the way!

Excuse number 2: It's not worth my time samples are only one use! Yet this is true but if you put them together you can really save some money read on to see how!

Shampoo

There are generally 2 new shampoo samples out a week. With these being only one use you may not see them as useful. Well look at it this way. That is 8 samples a month in 2 months you have 2 weeks of samples. Once i have 2 weeks of samples I use them, this will double the life of your shampoo bottles! That is a savings of about $3 a bottle (i know us savvy coupon ladies don't pay that much but we are talking retail price here)

Yearly Savings: $6 for 2 bottles!

Conditioner

These conditioner samples come with the shampoo samples. So read above. This is a savings of $3 a bottle

Yearly Savings $6 for 2 bottles

Lotion

These tend to be about a weeks worth of samples. This saves me about 2 bottles of lotion a year.

Yearly Savings: $6

Deodorant

These samples generally last about 2 weeks. This will also extend the length of your normal deodorant. Thats a savings of $3 a stick

Yearly Savings: $6 for 2 sticks

Body Wash

One sample of body way generally last 3-4 days. While many samples of body wash don't go out each year you can still get enough to save a bottle of body wash.

Yearly Savings: $4 for a bottle of body wash

Face Washes and Creams

There are always washes and creams out for samples. Companies want you to switch to their product. Samples range from 1 times use to 5 uses depending on size. This will save you on a bottle of face cream a year

Yearly Savings: $10 for a container of face cream

Coffee

There are alot of coffee samples out each month too. These samples are generally 4 cups some times 6 cups per sample. Over a year you can get enough samples to save you on 2 medium cans.

Yearly Savings: about $8

Return Address Labels

I can't tell you he last time i PAID for return address labels there are so many out their for free! Designer labels start a $5.99 a pack and if you pay bails this way, plus holiday cards, and all you can go threw 2 a year (or more!)

Yearly Savings $12.00

Pet Treats

Now these next 2 may not apply to you if you don't have a pet (think dog or cat) or you might save double if you have BOTH. Pet companies are putting out a lot of pet treats. I haven't bought my dog pet treat in while i still buy him milk bones but not the special treats. I get all of them for free! Generally the special treats run $4 - $7 in store.

Yearly Savings: $18

Pet Food

With all the new pet food coming out there are alot of pet food samples, like the new Rachael Ray pet food. Yearly we receive enough pet food to fill a small 5lb bag.

Yearly Savings $5.99

Pads/Tampons

This one obviously applies to the ladies. Always and Kotex are always putting out new samples. Plus once or twice a year Always puts out a coupon in their samples for a FREE pack of pads just take it i store and use like a regular coupon to redeem. I keep a bag of the samples i receive everything from liners to all different sizes of pads and tampons. I can fill at least 2 - 20 count bag with pads plus my free pack

Yearly Savings about $15

YES free magazines and not just junkie ones! So far this year i have gotten completely free subscriptions to Taste of Home ($12.98 a year), Lades Home Journal ($16.97a year), Bridal Magazine($16.95 a year), Motor magazine (I think that's the name it's a car magazine or hubby. it's $29.99 a year), and Women's Day($10.00)!!

Yearly Saving if you were to buy these subscriptions: $86.89

Laundry Soap

I get enough free samples of laundry soap to save a small bottle a year! Each of these samples are normally one use.

Yearly Savings: $5

Laundry Stain removers

I don't get a bunch of these but i get about 2-3 uses per sample and get get enough for about 1/2 a bottle of the normal stuff i use

Yearly Savings: $2.50

Clothes/Shoes

YES!! I have gotten free shirts, pairs of flip flops from old navy, free panties from Victoria Secret, free bras, a free hat and even some samples of socks!!

Yearly Savings: around $50 depending on what and how many a year.
