Many women consider drug store make up cheap makeup. Other women who think paying $35 dollars for mineral makeup at your local CVS or $10 for blush color translates into expensive make up. Avon makeup is often considered cheap makeup compare to lines from Merle Norman or Mary Kay. Women who only buy make up that is organic or at a spa may consider all of these commercial lines cheap.
When I am talking about cheap make up I am addressing the overstock makeup you can purchase at your local dollar store or discount lines of makeup like Jordana or L. A. colors you can get at the local dollar department store like Family Dollar or Dollar General. Most eye make up with the exception of mascara is more than acceptable to buy either Jordana or L. A. Colors.
This is true with lip stick and lip liners in these lines as well. If you have non sensitive skin you will want to try L.A. Colors Mystic Foundation or their new pressed mineral powder foundation. All of their mineral products have gotten fairly good online reviews though most people are finding their application tools included and packing falling short. Still if you use your own application tools these lines work well for almost any women and prices for products run the gamut of a $1 to $6. Elf makes some very inexpensive and adequate make up tools. Brushes are especially something you may want to pay more for. Good make up brushes clean up well and can be used for a very long time.
Over stock stores like Big Lots is a good place to find to more expensive and moderately priced cosmetic lines. If you use a line like Almay check these places first for products. You can save quite a bit of money over buying them at your corner drug store or detent store. The down side is the limited selection and the fact that these products are not available on a regular basis at stores that buy overstock product. Check the expiration date on all over stock cosmetics that you buy and the packaging to make sure it has not damage that might have allowed the cosmetic product to become damaged.
You should check sales at online drug store sites. Many times they will have deep discounts on brand name lines of cosmetics. Again, you may have to switch from your regular brand to save money, but you will still be getting a quality name brand product. You will want to look what lines the drug store sales are currently offering discounts on and then go look at the same product at your local drug store because colors on computer screens do not always reflect the true colors or the makeup. Take a trip around the corner find the same product in its true in color then return home and order it online to save money.
If you find you are just in love with a higher end lipstick or foundation and you want to stick to that line, go for it. Just try to keep up on sales and try to schedule your purchasing at a time when you can save at least %20 percent on the product. Again, if you are familiar with the product you can order it on line and get opportunities to find the lowest price than you can going from store to store. Just remember to factor in shipping costs when you consider the price of the cosmetic product. If you buy from a makeup line representative make sure she keeps you up to date on specials and ask for samples. Samples used correctly can really stretch your make up dollar. Never accept samples that have been used by another client as it is already contaminated and not worth the risk.
Low cost makeup kits can save you a great deal on money. Again check ingredients of all the products in the kit or you may find there are only a few products in the kit and then you are not really saving money. Make up kits are great for younger teenagers as it gives them a large variety of product to experiment with.
If you use fake eyelashes for special occasions you should check out the one's carried by Red Cherry. They have an unprecedented collection of quality lashes that will only set you back a couple of bucks and can be used many times over.
If you resist impulse buying and read reviews online you can almost always find a discounted or "low" end cosmetic product to meet your needs. This is especially true with various make up pencils. They are wax based cosmetic products and do not fade and have a relatively long shelf life. Reviews of lines such as L.A Colors and Jordana are available online and this will give you some idea what inexpensive but quality makeup products they offer
