Saving Money This Summer

I can't believe how much money people spend on videos, DVD, CD and books when there is a free alternative: The Library. Sure you might have to wait a few days (or weeks depending on the size of your library) to get them but hey it's free as long as you return them on time. Most library's let you rent DVD's for a full week and books anywhere from two weeks to a month plus offer free renewals either in person, via the phone or through your on-line account. Our library get stuff county wide and if the county doesn't have them they even offer inner-library loan. Plus most library's have on-line services. I can order all my stuff from the comforts of my own computer at home and just pick it up. So not only am I saving money by borrowing from the library I also save gas money by ordering from home.

Not sure what your looking for? Do what I do. Go to amazon or blockbuster etc and browse and then go either on-line or to you library with your list. Our local library is even having a summer reading program. They have one for the kids and one for the adults. When you return your books you enter a drawing for each book. I win something great every year.

Now our library also has free events year round. Things like reading books to kids, cooking tips, crafts, computer classes etc.

So why not use your library. All of ours are air conditioned so they are a great place to be when its really hot out. They also have computers with Internet access. Some like ours even offer free wireless access for you laptop. Sit inside or out and go on-line free. So go ahead and check them and books out.
