Saving Money Visting National Parks

Visiting National Parks and Federal Recreational Parks his year? Save money by buying a National Park Pass. These are passes that you can purchase and use for any National Park in the United States and will save you money as you visit more places with your family.

You can purchase a pass at the park you are going it. For one pass, the America the Beautiful passes is different prices for different people, such as age, and disability. All the passes allow you to enter the parks and you can take up to 3 other adults and children under 16 are free with the pass.

The annual pass it would be $80 but that would include you and up to 3 other adults to enter the park that are in your vehicle. Children who are under the age of 16 are free. This is good for one year. You must be 16 and older to purchase.

If you are 62 or older you can get a Senior Pass which is $10 and allows you to go to the parks for this low price. This is a lifetime pass. You can again bring others with you. You can not order this pass online and must purchase it at the parks. With this card you can get up to a 50% discount on many things that you have to pay for at the parks, like camping, swimming and other services.

The Access Pass is for residents with permanent disabilities. You must have documents to get this pass. This like the senior pass you can get 50% discounts on some services at the parks.

Then there is a way to earn a pass for free. The Volunteer Pass. To do this you must volunteer more than 500 hours and you can get a free pass for a year.

These passes can be used at many different places in every state. They cover entrance fees but will not cover parking fees. And if you lose it you will have to buy a new one.

If you go to the website you can see which park you can use the pass at. There are many locations in each state. This is one great way to save money while still having many places to visit over the summer. Some of the location that are near you or is on your way to other activities this summer and you can stop by these places and not pay an entrance fee and spend some time there.

This is just another way that you can save money while taking your children to see many interesting sites and learn some history.
