Saving Money: Why Being Frugal is Now a Compliment
Frugal in Today's Economy is a Good Thing: Learn How to Do It
Laura Rowley, a columnist at Yahoo Finance states that "Frugal is no longer the "F" word," Now, saving money and being frugal is just a way of life. People have turned to frugal ways of behaving and found it's actually not so bad," Laura Rowley just may be onto something. The general public is definitely taking a more cautious approach to their finances. Even those who did live fugal in the past are really amping things up in today's economic situation.
While people seem to be making a mental list of all they can and can not do without to save some money, families across America are getting used to a new standard of living. Things that simply don't make the necessary cut off will be...well cut off! Those manicures, cappuccinos, and even land-line phones may have gone out the window, but being frugal is more than just that.
The general notion is that Americans across the board are having a more powerful pull with the services they do acquire. Companies are bending over backwards to meet the demands of customers and simply threatening to go to a new service provider has helped many households gain access to unbelievable deals. This is the frugal attitude! Just a few years ago uttering the words "I can't afford..." may have been looked at as a set back. Now today, thousands of customers are learning there is power behind it.
Not only are customers out for the deal of a century, but they are changing their lifestyles to accommodate a more frugal way of life. Driving less and even researching driving techniques to get more miles to the gallon is typical. It's about making the most of what you do have and learning how to really make it stretch.
For years the American dream was funded by a plastic credit card. In today's economic crisis, families are learning to live within their means, which may just be the silver ling of of it all. Even if it means downgrading, Americans are researching ways to live their lives as cheaply as possible.
