Saving Time in the Morning

Getting Your Kids Ready in Record Time

Mornings are not for everyone. They sure are not made for my kids. I have such a rough time having the kids be on time for the bus. The bus comes the same time every morning so I really can't see what the problem is. I wake the kids up also at the same time everyday, but our mornings just seem short. I have found a few tips that are helping our family in the morning. No more missing the bus.

First I found that if we lay out, the night before, all the clothing that the kids will be wearing to school the next day, it is quicker in the morning. I lay these outfits in an easy to reach area. As the kids get up they go to their clothes and put them on. We have the first hassle free step to our morning.

Breakfast is the next on our list. Yes, I get breakfast ready (somewhat) the night before. I get bowls, spoons and boxes of cereal out on the table and ready to go. When the kids come to the kitchen dressed in their clothes it's time for breakfast. I simply pour the cereal and milk and there is absolutely no hassle. Breakfast is ready and step two is completed. Remember that other types of breakfasts also can be prepared the night before. Such as eggs and bacon (have dishes, forks and knifes ready). Have a loaf of bread beside the toaster, frying pan and cooking spray all ready to go.

Next my kids brush teeth. After they brush their teeth before going to bed we repaste the brush and the brushes are ready to go. The dental floss is placed beside the brushes and step three is completed.

The next hassle is making sure nothing is left behind. Right inside my door we place book bags, shoes, coats, gym clothes & any snacks or what ever they need to take with them. I find that this is the most important step. Each kid has all the much needed items for school and not too much is left behind. This is also a very helpful on tip. Your kids will always be right on track and ready for their lessons.

I also have a lunch box ready to go. We make the lunch, place stuff in the refrigerator and place the lunch in the stack. I see the lunch box and know I need to get the items out of the refrigerator.

I hope you try these tips and you too will have a great, hassle free morning. The kids just might need to add a few minutes of sleep on their schedule.
