Savings Guide to CVS

CVS is one of my favorite Drugstore's out there. With a wide range of products, nice people, and clean environment it ranks pretty high. But one of it's best features is the Extra Care Card. It's free to sign up and the pay-off is great! Every week they publish a circular with all their sale items - most you can only get if you present your extra care card - and on certain items offer ECB or Extra Care Bucks. Extra Care Bucks print out on the bottom of your receipt at the end of each transaction. They can range from $1.00 to $10.00 and can be used on your next transaction. For example you buy a tube of toothpaste for $2.00 and that week CVS will give you $1.50 ECB (Extra Care Bucks) back for buying that tube of toothpaste. So in the end it really only cost you $.50 because there giving you back $1.50 to spend on your next trip to CVS. There are even some deals where they'll give you the total price of the item back (I.E. instead of the $1.50 back you would $2.00 back)!

One other way to save money at CVS is to scan your Extra Care Card at the Coupon Center. Almost every CVS has one (it's normally toward the front) where people can scan their card and coupons tailored to their latest purchases print out. For example - If I recently bought a bottle of shampoo, they might give me a $1.00 off coupon for another brand of shampoo, or even the same brand. Also if you go on the first of month they'll print out a coupon for a free item - that's right completely F-R-E-E. No ECB's involved! A few months ago it was for a 20 pack of lens wipes (I am saving each one- they work great)!

One more way to save money at CVS is at the end of each quarter (every 3/4 months) they give you back 2% of your purchases in ECB's. So if you spend $200, they'll give you $2.00 back - might not seem like a ton, but every bit counts! There are lots of other ways too save money at CVS such as signing up for E-Mail promotions, getting coupons in the mail, and the monthly ECB book. Let me know if you find any other ways to save money at CVS!
