Saxophonist Edwin Daugherty Celebrates Release of Debut CD, "My Paradise"

CD Review

Dr. Jamie Yvette
Chicago jazz legend, Edwin Daugherty, is currently celebrating the release of his debut CD entitled My Paradise. An eclectic compilation of spoken word, sultry saxophone solos and pulsating techno sounds, My Paradise contains 11 original tracks that are sure to wow contemporary jazz lovers looking for a diversion from cookie cutter instrumentals. The CD provides a refreshing work of pure artistry and musical genius.

An accomplished saxophonist who has performed throughout the United States and abroad, Daugherty's avant-garde approach to My Paradise has resulted in a finished product that offers something new and exciting on every track. On the title track, Daugherty's talent for spoken word shines as he shares his vision of paradise to the sound of a jazzy combination of sexy bass tones, hip beats and saxophone melodies. He changes the pace on the second track, Jacaranda, taking listeners on a high-speed, unforgettable adventure.

An intimate dinner for two would be incomplete without Little Sunflower, Dreaming of You and I Touched a Dream, three sensual tracks on Daugherty's CD that are bound to set the perfect mood for a romantic evening. And techno lovers will be thrilled by the up-tempo track, Indio and the hypnotic Zanzibe. In Zanzibe, Daugherty once again showcases his talent for spoken word, this time taking listeners on an exotic journey to a mythical place where truth, love and harmony prevail.

My Paradise costs $12 and is available for purchase on Daugherty's website, http://edwindaugherty.com. Visitors to the website can also listen to tracks on the CD, purchase individual songs and sign Daugherty's guest book. Thanks, Doc, now I want to listen to some good stuff instead of writing! Unlike multi-taskers such as yourself and the individual whom has left a comment below, I can't do both at the same time, lol ...... ~~~ mike ~~~ P.S.: And local musicians I've encountered here seem to always feel obligated to give CDs away to acquaintances, and so Mr. Daugherty, if you're reading this, CHARGE $12 NO MATTER WHO IT IS! (except for Jamie)

I have to get a copy of that. Sounds awesome! :-)
