Say Bon Appetite to These Cities: Ten Tasty Travel Towns

Rachel Heller
Traveling is a favorite pastime of many people of all ages and eating is part of traveling all over the world. I love to see the sights when I travel to a new place and I also like to sample some of that city's or country's cuisine while I am visiting. In fact, it is very important to know where the best places to eat are located while traveling for many reasons such as health, dietary, and monetary reasons. When I think of great locations to eat I think of Paris, London, Rome, and New York as the cuisine capitals of the world. However, there are other cities where the food is fantastic. Therefore, here are ten food fantastic cities that will make you say Bon Appetite.

Paris: Paris and great cuisine go hand and hand. Paris is known for its bakeries, rich dishes prepared with real butter and delicious sauces, and escargots. I have always wanted to go to Paris and eat the most sinful meal of my life at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Rome: I think of pizza and pasta when I think of Rome and food. However, both pizza and pasta in Rome aren't the same as pizza and pasta in the United States. There are fewer toppings on pizza made in Rome and pasta comes as a side dish with most meals in Rome. Plus, people can't order pasta as a main entrée in Rome. In addition, Rome is also famous for its gelato. I have had chocolate gelato and it is delicious and better than ice cream.

Tokyo: If you love sushi, sashimi, and rice then Tokyo is the right tasty town for you.

Mexico City: This tasty town in known for traditional beef and pork tamales and hot chocolate.

Barcelona: I love seafood; therefore Barcelona Spain would be a tasty travel town worth checking out. It is known for its codfish salad, seafood stew, and bread with tomatoes, which is a regular appetizer.

London: London is home to meat pies, especially Shepard's Pie, fish and chips, scones and tea. I have wanted to travel to London to experience tea, eat fish and chips from a newspaper, and eat at least one meat pie.

New York City: When I think about New York I see it as one of the food capitals in the United States. It seems as if people can sample any type of cuisine in New York City day or night from hot dogs and cheesecake to corned beef and prime rib. I would call New York City the city that never sleeps, but always eats.

Chicago: I used to live in this tasty town and I am a huge fan of the deep dish pizza, Italian beef sandwiches, and Chicago-Style hot dogs. The condiment of choice for all hotdogs in Chicago is mustard; don't put ketchup on these hot dogs.

New Orleans: This tasty town is famous for its spicy gumbo. I have eaten chicken gumbo. New Orleans is also known for its seafood dishes especially ones that are created with crayfish, shrimp or crab. I love red beans and rice. On the dessert front, I love beignets, which are French doughnuts and pralines. I also have a doll from New Orleans that is holding a tray of pralines.

Melbourne: This tasty town is known for seafood too. Many locals and tourists come to Melbourne for halibut, red snapper, and prawns, which are just large shrimp. In addition, Australians love to barbeque prawns, steak, chicken, and lamb during Christmas.

Eating is a part of the traveling experience. There are many tasty towns all over the world to taste cuisine that people will be talking about for years. In fact, some people travel to places such as Rome, Paris, and New Orleans for a wonderful culinary adventure. Therefore, please say bon appetite to these ten tasty towns.
