Say Goodbye to Eye Bags the Natural Ways!

SB
Have you ever had a bad morning, waking up in a pair of swollen, puffy eyes, with dark circles on it; making you look like a zombie that just came out from the grave? Oh, yes, you did and we all had a taste of it!

Eye bags are bulges in dark circles around the eyes, also known as raccoon attack.

It is not just a simple skin discoloration but, usually symptomatic or could be a manifestation of other health conditions like allergies, fatigue or tiredness, kidney diseases, obesity, and/or could be a sign of aging too.

Stress and excessive crying can make eye bags more visible and prominent. And, unfortunately, found to be hereditary.

But, no matter what causes your eye bags, there are still ways on how you can reduce its appearance, without going to blepharoplasty (cosmetic surgery for eye bag removal or eye lid reduction), or be left with the choice of buying expensive eye serums and creams that has no proven effect. What's even better is that there are natural ways; safe, affordable and convenient ways to eliminate those dark circles away and get rid of your eyes' puffiness.

Below is the list of highly proven natural remedies that can keep eye bags away:

Sleep. Avoid staying late nights and sleep at least 8 hours a day. Sleep is not just healthy for the eyes but, for the whole body and our whole being. Sleep recharges all of our entire system and gives our eyes the needed rest from working all day.

Cucumbers are very effective in treating eye bags and relaxing the eyes; way, way better than any cosmetic remedies. So, make it a point to always have some in your refrigerator. Cut it in circle slices and keep it in the fridge; to keep it chilled and fresh before using. Treat your eyes with cucumber not more than 15 minutes and at least once a day, ideally every morning. But, don't sleep with cucumber on your eyes overnight, as it can cause allergies; redness and excessive tear ducts.

Chilled and sliced strawberries, apples and potatoes (both must be peeled) can be used as alternatives for cucumber too.

Cold tea bags of chamomile or green tea; wet the tea bags slightly and have it chilled overnight. Put it on your eyes for 15 minutes, right after doing the cucumber treatment.

Massage the entire eye area, using almond or olive oil to improve the sagging of the skin and reduced the appearance of fine wrinkles. And mind you, olive oil is also good for eye lashes too, as it thickens and lengthens the lashes better than any mascara on the market.

Drink plenty of water. Don't get settled with just eight glasses a day, drink plenty of water as often as you can. Water significantly improves our blood circulation, which is healthy for the eyes too.

Drink cranberry or barley juice (which can be obtained by boiling the seeds for at least 15 minutes) and keep drinking these juices, alternately with water until swelling or the puffiness of the eyes subsides.

Eat foods that are rich in Vitamin A. It won't just improve your vision but, nourish the over-all condition of your eyes.

Avoid smoking. Smoking is not just bad for the lungs but, it can also cause vascular disorders and diseases, as it hampers our blood circulation and triggers for our eyes to swell.

Avoid salt. Excessive use of salt won't just trigger hypertension and kidney disorder but, can cause the eyes and our entire body to bloat.

Never take a bath after extensive reading, or after staying long on the computer; or after doing any eye stressing activities. Give the eye muscles and nerves at least few hours to relax before taking a bath or washing your face.

Iced therapy also helps reduce puffiness. Grab a few cubes of ice and put it altogether in a cloth and damp it to the eye area for about 10-15 minutes.

So, leave the bloated, puffy eyes to Garfield and give your eye bags a treat!
