The archbishop for Saint Paul and Minneapolis addressed health care as "essential for the human life and dignity of every person," but, there's no way for the Catholic Church will support the legislation until moral standards set by the church are met.
Two thumbs up for you, Father!
How on earth we can legalize a murder? Abortion is a murder! It's even more evil than killing someone who's born already. With this, where do the legislators think our moral direction is going?
The legislation used the term reform to address the proposed changes. But, then reform, the word is only used to describe changes for improvement. But, I don't think with abortion, we're improving anything.
The pro abortion parties are accusing the Catholic Church allegedly attracting controversy, as it lobby to ban abortion coverage in public option insurance plans.
And, that the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops corresponded to all U.S. senators, sometime last month of November, allegedly harassing and pressuring lawmakers to oppose abortion coverage, provide coverage for illegal immigrants and expand coverage for low-income Americans.
Archbishop Nienstedt never denies nor admits the correspondence yet, he said that he doesn't see it as "political muscle," rather, "it's the moral voice of the church speaking."
I believe that there's still many of us who agree with Archbishop Nienstedt and the Catholic Church. There's still many of us who values life and believes that all fetuses have the right to be born.
It's just that it's really hard to speak of morals and values, and to talk of morality, when you're talking to someone immoral!
Let's say no to abortion!

Post a CommentFinally, the Church is taking charge, Deo Gratias! I look forward to many more fine examples of leadership like this, we need it, our children need to see Priests stand up for what is right. What a great first step, protecting the unborn and innocent. Promoting healthy, supportive extended families is the next step. With the tough economic times at hand, the reinstituting of extended families into our culture would be the next logical step for the church to actively, and vocally promote.
