Scamper and Me: Kitty Goes to the Doctor

It Happens to the Best of Us

Shirley A Mandel
Sooner or later it happens to everybody, that dreaded trip to the doctor. I was concerned about Scamper because he had started biting his tail, and then I found awful stories on the internet about serious feline diseases and terrible flea infestations. The whole thing sounded ominous enough so I had to turn him in to the animal medical authorities.

The vet was gentle enough and nice enough to my Scamper that he didn't get too upset. She gave him a complete examination and a complete flea inspection . Then she gave me the bad news- he's nervous. She charged me $35:00.

Nervous!? How can he be nervous when I meet his every need and obey his every command? If he asks for Meow Mix, he gets Meow Mix, and if he wants his head scratched I scratch his little head. What Scamper wants, Scamper gets. He has it better than most people, including me, and he needs therapy?

Immediately upon leaving the vet's office, I hurried to Dollar General to get Scamper a toy for his entertainment pleasure. I purchased a big green toy frog. Now Scamper runs all over the house with the frog between his teeth like he caught it himself and it's his trophy.

Scamper's reward for being good at the doctor was the toy. The doctor's reward was $35:00. And my reward is a happy cat.

Don't you just love a happy ending ?

Funny. Maybe life was going too good for Scamper and he was nervous that something was bound to go wrong. ;)

Get concerned when your cat doesn't feel like biting its tail.

Imagine that! A cat being stressed out. Poor baby!

Shirley this is so funny! Why don't you give scamper one of your mood meds. Poor Scamper, he is so spoiled he may have to relocate to a different room in your cabin. I know he won't leave you.
He would be foolish if he did.
That cat is a lucky cat.

LOL, my little dog was licking and licking and I was convinced it was allergies. Went to the vet and she told me the same thing sort of only she said, "Boredom." Boredom? Makes me feel like I'm not good company :) cheers
