Scared Monkeys, Websleuths, & Missing Baby Gabriel Johnson

Rik Merchant
Gabriel Johnson, who is now nine months old, was last seen with his mother Elizabeth Johnson on the day after Christmas 2009 in San Antonio, Texas. Johnson absconded with him from their Tempe Arizona home. While she sits in jail on four felonies and a $1.1 million-dollar cash-only bond, her ex-boyfriend and Gabriel's alleged father, Logan McQueary, is in Texas looking for the baby. And Internet sleuths are also looking.

"There is a movement underway. Thousands of people all across the country are using the Internet to help find baby Gabriel Johnson- exchanging tips, and providing leads," said news correspondent Kevin Kennedy of Arizona Central 12 News. One of those persons is Jodilee, who said of Gabriel, "We very much feel he is alive."

Kennedy described Jodilee as 'one of thousands of Internet foot soldiers, who [like Gabriel] was also stripped from her father, when she was two'. He said, "Jodilee only remembers pieces about her father. If alive, Gabriel won't remember anything but as he grows up..." Jodilee responded, "I think he will always know because the hole in his heart will be there... like was mine."

The thousands of foot soldiers include two reputable Internet armies- the versatile mind-fertile Scared Monkeys and Websleuths- some of whose members have substantive investigative skills used to excavate factual clues that could help solve cases. Each member backs up his information with links to the source. Members exchange theories and research. Some theories lead nowhere; others become critical pieces of the crime puzzle. Scared Monkeys and Websleuths work on many cases including the case of missing baby Gabriel Johnson.

As a rolling stone gathers moss, so Gabriel's deplorable plight is gathering nationwide and international public interest. Scared Monkeys and Websleuths, however, have been on the Internet search path since Gabriel first went missing.

Yet, any sleuthing community is sleuthing without knowledge of all the evidence. Law Enforcement does not release all facts and evidence to the news media. Therefore, deductions are made without the benefit of vital information and should not be taken for granted as correct. Web chatter can aid or impede investigations.

Scared Monkeys. The Scared Monkeys site is divided into six main sections- Home/Blog; Forum; Radio; Missing Persons; Crime; RSS. When a Scared Monkey wants a break from crime, he can visit the 'Monkey Lounge' for 'Games', 'What's Cooking/ Recipes', and 'Fashion & Decorating'. He can also visit the 'Pop Culture' section for 'Music', 'Movies and Television', 'Books', and 'Radio with Dana Pretzer'.

Websleuths. The Websleuths site hosts the 'Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community' that is a network of resources. The number of links is extensive but the site is simple to use, with a set of 'Quick Links'. Some links to start out with- Home; Forums; the sub-forum Missing.

Gabriel Johnson has his own comprehensive Sub Forum. On this link, the entire wealth of resources are clearly laid out. You can access 'List of National Databases and Resources' and 'Families of the Missing-Resources' for just two examples (under the heading 'Lighting the Way Home'). A few of the other categories are: 'Featured Case Discussion', which includes JonBenét Ramsey and Caylee Anthony; 'Spotlight Cases', which includes The River Killers; Crimes and Trials; etc. Some sub-forums are by each U.S. state. Outside of the U.S. are the sub-forums Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Websleuths has 24,625 members.

This may sound like a stupid question but ..Has anyone else noticed that there are pictures on the nightstand (in the pics of baby gabriel in the "hotel" holding the medicine dropper)...are they sure those pics were taken at the hotel she was staying at or someones house? I know that I have never brought pics and set them up on the nightstand when I stay in a hotel..

I finally finished reworking my poster template for Gabriel Johnson and his father. I'm mailing a copy to the Trust account address, for Logan, with the little tutorial Re: need to have multiple shots of very different looks, so general public can recognize baby Gabriel more easily, and noting that young children respond well to their nicknames, when they hear them. Sent the reworked missing/reward poster to you via e. So glad you're going to post it. The Gabriel Johnson Trust Fund, account number, at Bank Of America, is 457015122018. Cash is the preference, because there's no wait time for proces-

I check twice a day for this baby, and pray for him without cease. I cannot imagine the pain his father is going through night and day, and I want SOOOO to give that mother truth serum or a water board treatment or just ANYTHING to find out where that precious boy is! Thank You for this article, it DOES help to know that people have not given up on him. I know I haven't!

It's nice to know that people are trying to help. So sad that this had to happen.

Wow what a wealth of information in this article. With all of this activity surrounding the search for Gabriel, one can only hope he is found quickly. Elizabeth must be comfortable in her pink jail panties, as she is evidently in no hurry to offer information on her son's whereabouts.
