Scary Horror Movies with Surprise Endings

Didn't See That Coming

Shan
Have you ever been watching a movie and somewhere in that movie something so shocking or something you never in your wildest dreams saw coming happens that you get chill bumps and you are just totally speechless for a few minutes? Well it does not happen often with todays movies but it has happened to me a few times. So I decided to talk about the very few movies that have left me momentarily dumbfounded.

The Blob 1988 remake where the very nice looking, charming, football jock boy scout who we think is going to be our hero of the movie gets eaten within 20 minutes of the movie and the town bad boy and the nice girl who was on the date with our would be hero end up being the hero's who save the world from the blob? Even when I see this movie today I still cannot see that one coming and nor can i figure out why the movie spends so much time introducing us to this nice young man to have him killed so horribly so quickly unless just for the shock purpose?

Saw 2004, This was another one I was completely shocked with! The entire movie is sort of a guessing game or a puzzle which is to be expected when the killer of the movie's name is in fact Jigsaw. But just when you think you have this one figured out you realize you were completely wrong. When Jigsaw stands up at the end of this movie after laying in the middle of the floor in a puddle of blood though the ENTIRE movie my mouth actually fell open and I could not speak for several minutes after-wards. The many sequels to this movie have tried desperately but failed in my opinion to bring back that twist ending we got with the first Saw. One of my favorites "I did not see that coming" ending in any film.

The Others 2001 OK I knew before watching this one that I was suppose to be shocked with the ending. I had already heard about it from friends and reviews which made me pay close attention and try extra hard to figure out the ending. Well once again just when I thought I had figured out I was wrong! I had no idea what so ever that Nicole Kidman and her children were the real ghosts in this movie! And the fact that I really tried to figure it out before the ending but did not made it an even better "I did not see that coming" ending.

Gone Baby Gone 2007 This is a great movie, I have watched it several times and I still get chills every-time I see Casey Affleck's face when he sees the little missing little girl come running out the door to Morgan Freeman's character. The look on his face it probably what my face looked like the first time I saw the movie!

Alien 1979 This is another one where a character you expect to live, mainly in this one because he was the biggest actor at the time than the rest of a pretty unknown cast dies very quickly. Tom Skerritt's character is killed off fairly early and a female turns out to be our hero. A female actor none had ever heard of until this movie, but who knew she would be so great at killing aliens.

The Sixth Sense 1999 would have to be my all time "I never in a million years ever saw that coming" moment from a movie but should have! When Bruce Willis character finally at the end of the movie realizes he is dead was one i just do not think anyone can say they saw coming! I was in total shock, and then I have to go back and see it again to figure out how I missed that? And then I feel stupid b/c I should have saw it coming! The clues are all there through out the entire movie but we do not pay attention to them! It was very clever the way they did the clues to let you know he was dead without giving it away so you would be shocked the first time seeing it but after watching it again you could easily see he was indeed a ghost though out the entire movie! Bravo! Definitely My all time "I did not see that coming" movie moment!
