Every night Martha Greene tucked into bed with her pet boa constrictor curled up at the end of her bed. She never thought twice about the giant reptile at her feet and always fell asleep fearless. After awhile the snake stopped eating the mice she normally fed it. Thinking nothing of it, she continued to allow the snake to sleep at her feet. The snake continued to turn down meals for two months. Still unfazed by this she continued to tuck in at night with the snake on her bed although now when she awoke in the mornings she found that the snake was stretched out beside her instead of curled up at her feet.
Now, beginning to worry she took the snake to the veterinarian. She explained to the vet that her snake had not eaten for two months. The vet explained to Martha that this was not all that abnormal. She then mentioned that the snake would stretch out beside her instead of curling up at her feet. Suddenly the doctor got very serious. "Oh," he said, "It's sizing you up. It is trying to figure out how much longer it needs to starve itself before you can become its next meal."
Martha immediately gave the snake to her ex-husband Bruce. (Just kidding but she did get rid of it)
