Scary Spice Is Now a Mom
The birth of this child has had the media's attention since Melanie revealed that the father of the baby was actor Eddie Murphy. Melanie Brown dated Eddie Murphy for a little bit before the relationship ended. However, Eddie Murphy denies the child and has said that there is no way to tell who's child that is until the baby is born and a DNA test is preformed.
To add to the controversy, the little girl was born on Eddie Murphy's birthday. A Spokeswomen for Melanie Brown has stated that this was simply coincidental and that Melanie Brown went into labor naturally.
Eddie Murphy and Melanie Brown began dating in 2006. Their relationship was broadcast throughout many tabloids and entertainment reports. Rumors began swirling of a wedding and also that the pair had tattoos that displayed each others' name.
On October 17, 2006, news broke that Melanie Brown was expecting and that the child was indeed Eddie Murphy's. As it appeared, things could not be any better for the couple. Melanie even spoke out about their relationship stating: "We're in love and get on really well. All the children have met and get on too - it's like a great big happy family. I can't wait to spend Christmas with him and I can't wait to have this baby."
But the relationship was short-lived. In December 2006, the couple ended the relationship. Eddie Murphy spoke out about the child and stated in a interview that there is no way to tell if the child is his or not until a DNA test is preformed once the child is born. Words between Melanie Brown and Eddie Murphy continued through the media about the paternity. Melanie has stated several times that she is certain that Eddie Murphy is the father and Eddie Murphy still denies that he is the father.
According to reports, the father's name has not been added to the birth certificate and Melanie Brown refused to call Eddie Murphy to announce the birth.
Eddie Murphy has not issued any type of statement, however you can expect to hear more about this story since Melanie Brown is determined to prove that Eddie Murphy is the father, and Eddie Murphy is determined to prove he is not.
