Making a scavenger hunt game can be just as fun as playing it. There are many different ways you can make a scavenger hunt game. The main components you will need are cards and something to store them in. My girls and I made a really cute tin to hold our scavenger hunt game in which I will explain how to make.
Supplies Needed:
Band-aid Tin (you can purchase one at your local craft store or reuse a band-aid tin)
Cardstock or patterned paper-cut to 3 ¼" H to 8" L
A variety of ribbons- cut to approx. 3-4" long
Stickers and other embellishments such as flowers, rhinestones, etc
Spray adhesive
8 ½" x 11" white cardstock - 4 sheets (you can also use sheets of business cards that you print yourself on your own printer)
Printer with black ink
First spray the back of the patterned paper or cardstock with spray adhesive and wrap around the band-aid tin. Smooth out any bubbles. Decorate the tin with stickers and embellishments. Tie the ribbons around the handle of the tin. If your tin does not have handles then you can decorate the top of the tin with paper and embellishments if you wish.
Print off scavenger hunt cards that you can make from the business card sheets or using regular cardstock and a word processing program. You could decorate the back of the cards or adhere patterned paper to the back of the cards to make them look a little fancier.
Now you are ready to play. You can divide the kids up into teams and give each team half the cards. Set a time limit and have both teams scavenger through the house finding items on the cards. The team with the most correct items within the time limit wins.
Some more fun you could have with this is to give both teams a piece of paper and have them make a list of items the other team has to find. You could also use a theme when making out the cards such as an outdoor theme, items you would find outside. Or a birthday theme and use items you would find at a birthday party such as balloons, candles, and various decorations.
