As my husband Len only likes electric shavers, this is yet another product for me. I am not the kind of woman that worries if a product is for a man. If it is a good product I will use it.
When I first looked at the packaging I saw that as well as the razor, there are 2 cartridges with the 5 blades in them. That already is a saving, comparing it to any other razors you purchase. Normally it is not the initial cost, because they always have coupons, but they get you with the cost of cartridges.
The razor comes with it's own stand, and a clear plastic cartridge box, that has the ability to hold 4 cartridges. It has an easy lift off blue plastic top to it.
Onto the razor.
I love the men's razors because they are much sturdier than the Venus one I had been using. The razor is a dark blue, with light gray rubber areas that make for a secure hold. There is also a rubber area towards the head of the razor, to position the razor on it's stand.
I take my Schick Hydro shaving gel and razor into the bathroom with me, and have my shower first. Then I use the gel under my arms, and take the razor, and carefully glide it under my left arm area, and with 2 glides down, the hairs are gone. I do the same with my other underarm area.
Then I use the gel around my bikini area. Here there is stubble, and with my Venus, or a disposable razor, I have been known to cut myself. So I take the Schick Hydro 5 razor, and go along the bikini area. The most difficult part is the inside of the top of the legs. I lift my leg up onto the vanity, and then can get to this area. The Schick Hydro had no problem in getting into these difficult areas. There were no cuts, bumps, or little bits of stubble left. This is when I know that a razor is good.
My final area is my legs, and these are easy to do with any razor. I just applied the gel, and then went down each leg. I continually rinsed the shaver blades between each length. My legs were lovely and smooth.
What I like about this razor is that it has a head that kind of 'floats'. Well it moves up and down, and that really did make shaving easier. The hydrating gel reservoir that it has, instead of just a strip, should last twice as long as regular strips.
On the back of the card that comes with the razor, it states that you should, "Change the cartridge when empty holes start to appear in the gel reservoir". There are diagrams showing how to do this.
I have now used this razor 3 times and find it as good as the Gillette Fusion Proglide. The only difference is that the Proglide is a power razor, and does a little of the work for you. On the whole I really have to say that both of these are as good as each other.

Nice review!
I now have 3 free razors, and by the time the cartridges need replacing I hopefully will have some new 'free' products.
Before that I had several ladies ones for free. If I run out I buy disposable ones.
But aren't the cartridges expensive? You probably have a coupon for them too :)
excellent work ♥ thanks for sharing - I've found the razors designed for women are not as good as they used to be :) Great review:)
I have used those razors, I like them. Nice review.
Thanks, good review, cheers :)
