Schick Hydro Moisturizing Shave Gel for Men or Women

Susan Slade
I have been using Schick Hydro Moisturizing Shave Gel with the Gillette Fusion Power Proglide Razor. You may think that this is strange for a woman, but honestly, if I get products at the right price, and they are great products, then why wouldn't I?

I got the Gillette razor for free, and the same thing happened with the Schick Hydro Moisturizing Shave Gel. Walgreen's drugstore had it on sale at $2.99, and then I got the same amount to spend in register coupons, on my next visit.

The can is 8.4 fluid ounces (238 g.), and is blue at the bottom, and white at the top. Upon taking the plastic top off the can, it has a press down button, which allows the gel to come out of the tiny hole.

Schick has various formulas but I chose the moisturizing one.

I shave my legs, under my arms, and the bikini area, at least twice a week, and sometimes more. Living in Florida, I swim everyday, so want to look good.

I had just come out of the shower, and haven't shaved my legs in the shower, since cutting one really badly. The light just doesn't get into this area. So I towel dried all my body, apart from the areas that needed shaving.

I pressed down on the white button, and out came a green, and white gel. The first thing I noticed was that it didn't have a masculine smell to it. On the contrary, it has a fresh outdoor type smell.

The gel is really thick, and when I took off the first amount, which was just over half an inch, I was surprised at how much lather I got. It did the front of my leg, and one side. I then pressed down the same amount of time, to get the correct amount for the rest of my leg.

I then switched on the power on the Gillette Fusion Proglide Razor, and went down my leg with ease. I then rinsed the razor, and continued until my leg was shaved. My leg was silky smooth, and smelled great. I rinsed off my leg, and repeated this on my second leg.

My bikini area was a breeze. I only needed the smallest amount of Schick Hydro Moisturizing Shave Gel, and the razor whisked through the hard bristles. This isn't an easy job for any product, but Hydro Shave Gel got the job done for me.

Under my arms, the hair still remains soft, so by just using a tiny amount of shave gel I was able to remove these hairs.

The pictures on the back of the can are of a man shaving his face, but in today's world I think that shaving gels can be unisex.

What Schick have to say about their product:

"The days of letting shaving take moisture from your skin are over. Schick Hydro™ Moisturizing Shave Gel prepares your skin with a fast-acting moisturizing formula that's made with vitamins E and pro-B5.

It's specially formulated to help prepare your skin for a smooth shave. Plus, hydrating moisturizers ensure skin is taken care of afterward. For an even better shaving experience, use this vitamin-enriched gel with a Schick Hydro™ razor. It's time to stop depriving your skin. It's time to start using Schick Hydro™ Moisturizing Shave Gel. "

I checked my legs a couple of hours after shaving them, and they are as smooth as a baby's bottom, and I can feel how hydrated they are. There is no need to use a moisturizer after using this shaving gel. As I had rubbed my hands over my legs, I put them up to my nose, and could still smell the clean, fresh scent.

So whether you are a man, and want a great shaving gel for your face, or a woman that just wants an inexpensive product that works great, Schick Hydro has come up with trumps. Families can stop buying 2 products, and both use the same one.
