10 Tips for Any Student Filling Out a Scholarship Application

Getting a Scholarship is not as hard as some may think. A huge percentage of scholarship applicants simply don't follow the proper steps or make a single mistake while running through the application process. Collected are 10 tips from people who accept scholarships for their profession. Taking heed to all of the following should greatly increase you chances of a successful scholarship application.

1) Scholarship Application Essay Answers- be sure to give specific examples. Support yourself meeting the criteria of the application by giving concrete examples instead of just claiming you meet the scholarship application criteria.

2) Eligibility- don't apply to a scholarship if you are not fully eligible. Don't assume a smaller criteria doesn't matter, you will be wasting your time and the valuable time of the institution reviewing your scholarship.

3) Know the scholarship's sponsors goals- Knowing what the sponsor is trying to gain from the scholarship can be key in directing your application and answers to reflect those goals. This can make you stand out by a mile

4) Complete the Application!- The amount of scholarship applications that are sent in incomplete or not in proper order is a huge percentage and can take you out of the mix before you start.

5) Neat and Professional- Be sure to keep your scholarship application and all of its components neat and in order. A subtle touch but if it comes down to a few applications the tipping factor can be a well laid out application.

6) Resume addendum- Complete a separate resume of your accomplishments. This can be a quick reference for the scholarship reviewer and can highlight why you are special.
