Guide Posts is having a Sweet Sixteen Scholarship Contest for girls 13-18 years of age on or by November 1, 2006. Girls who are 13 through 18 must write a true, first-person story about a memorable or life-changing experience they have had. The story must be original and unpublished. Prizewinning manuscripts will become the property of Guideposts. There will be one First prize awarded in the amount of $16,000 and one Second prize awarded in the amount of $10,000 and one Third prize in the amount of $5,000. These prizes will be awarded in the form of a scholarship paid directly to an accredited four-year college or university designated by the winner. Additionally twelve entrants will be chosen as "Honorable Mention" and they will receive cash prizes of $500.

First Prize: $16,000; Second Prize: $10,000; Third Prize: $5,000; Fourth Prize: $2,500. Scholarships will be paid directly to the accredited four-year college or university designated by the winner when the winner is fully enrolled. Twelve "Honorable Mention" cash prizes of $500 will also be awarded. Winners of any prize worth more than $600 are responsible for any and all federal, local, or state taxes that result from their winnings.

The deadline for entries is November 1, 2006.
