School Has Started, How Are You Dealing?

Carmen Contos
School is back in session. If you have a child then, I'm sure that you already knew that. Getting kids prepared for yet another school year can be a pain in the you know what, unless you know how to handle it well. This article will help you in the process of getting your children, and quite possible yourself prepared for yet another year of school.

First off all, the most problematic part of starting school is the morning rituals. Everyone knows that summer is time for those lazy days and by the time school starts again, kids are in the process of getting used to going to bed late and sleeping in late. Hopefully, before school started, you have already prepared to get the children and yourself ready for early mornings. The best way to do this is about a week to two weeks before school starts, make sure that you and the kids have a bedtime and that you and the kids wake up every morning around the time that you would have to get ready for school. This will ensure that you wont have to fight your kids in the morning on a very hectic school day. Remember, you want the school morning to go smoothly, that way the kids have time for breakfast and you can get everything they need together without forgetting something. There is nothing worse than a frantic school morning and a possibility of missing the bus or getting to school late.

Second, is the usual fights with the kids about what to wear. The best way to help this problem is to make sure that they go to a school where they have to wear uniforms, but most schools don't. So, to make sure that you aren't spending the entire morning arguing over what the will wear, the night before school, before the kids go to bed, have them help you pick out what they will wear for the next day. Having things already picked out and planned will ensure that the next morning will be stress free and go smoothly.

Another thing you will want to do is make sure to pre-make the lunches. Making the sandwiches and everything the night before will also help with the stress less morning. Remember, school can be hard to get used to, but as long as everything is in order and everything is done the night before, it will be much easier for you as the parent and your kids to adjust. Everyone wants school to go good, and following these ideas will aid in that.
